Is the light on solid with the key on? If not does the light only come on with the brakes applied? When you hold the brake pedal down for over one second does the light go out? If the answers are no, yes, yes everything is working fine. You don’t have power on your center pin of your pigtail, or it’s not making it to the abs system. Therefore the system is getting power from the brake light wire, this is normal and an alternative way for the system to work.

Light cycles like normal with key on engine off. Light goes off when truck started. When applying brakes, and light comes on and blows abs ignition fuse on truck. Dash light comes on every time brakes are applied. Isn’t this a violation?

When you hold the brakes, does the light go out after 1 second? If so that’s the system self testing. Something is wrong, you shouldn’t be blowing fuses, but it’s not a violation of the light goes out.Codycodycody11158 Thanks this.

Yes, the light goes out after 1 second of holding the brakes. Something is definitely wrong. I’d rather do a few loads this week and put it back in the shop next week if it isn’t a violation.

Sounds like it’s working right to me. Someone might come along and correct me, hopefully they can cite a regulation that proves me wrong. I’d like to learn something.Codycodycody11158 Thanks this.
