Trailer Door Open Legal?

  1. older junk equipment tends to do that. you roll the door down you flip the handle sometimes it doesn't latch it bounces and Upsy-Daisy she goes..
the easiest way to do it but it requires some effort in about 10 seconds is each time you close the roll up door slap a padlock on but then again efforts that's the key here kids..

    How about this-

I have a 53ft trailer and the bottom hinge on both doors are slightly bent inwards causing the passenger side door to stick out about 1/2”. Both doors do fully latch top and bottom. From what I can see, the trailer is still weather sealed with both doors close. Can not see any open gaps or light coming through if I stick a flashlight inside the trailer with doors closed. By DOT standards the load is secured but will they say anything of I get stopped for an inspection?

What about a steel end dump where the door swings up and down?
