    REDD, I got to disagree with that.

    That is called.......... Easter Egging.

    Just because something is easier, it doesn't make it the first thing or the best/most sensible thing to do.

    Proper troubleshooting technique is.....

    Check the OUTPUT of the circuit in question (with a meter)......first. If it's a light bulb...and the bulb's good...check the socket and then the ground side of the circuit. Can't do that with a test light....you NEED a meter. With lighting, the ground is the first suspect after the bulb and the socket are determined to be good.

    Then work your way backwards thru the wiring till you discover the problem. Leave nothing to chance...check all of it visually and with the meter. It's easier to fix at a shop than along side the highway.

    Find the switch the previous owner used for the dump valve and turn it on, your light should be working.

    hmm.. i would have checked the fuses and brakers first too... wouldn't make any sense tracing a wire all the way from the trailer back to the fuse box just to find out a fuse was blown when i could have looked at that first.. but i guess to each his own..
