Spray lock with WD40.

I bought this one at Walmart. It's around $10. I've had it in ice and snow, and has not corroded yet

I just use the master locks that come three in a set, and give them a shot of WD40 when they just start working less than smooth. WD is not a good lubricant, but it does displace water. Which is what you want.
Even the high end padlocks will only keep honest people out. I keep a master key in my truck in case the padlock won't open.
Uses the same batteries as the leaf blower I use to sweep out the trailer. Also had a situation once where a rear end accident damaged the door hardware and couldn't even pry them open with a wrecking bar. Until I cut a few hinges off.
Don't over think the lock thing too much, or spend too much money on one. If you're worried about theft, back up against a wall or a light pole.
