For a new trailer. How you get Identification #of the trailers ? Does anyone can pick up your own #?

If you run spot market freight it's much easier to just number your tractor and trailer. What's the big deal? Helps you keep up with your own stuff at yards where you have to drop. You never drop, you say? Me neither really, live loads only, but every now and then I'll get a Lowe's DC or something where you have to drop and let them spot it in while you wait by the guard shack. Just makes things easier.

    Have fun with it.
My truck is 86 and my trailer is 75309

Every now and then somebody gets it.

Never pulled a trailer with a number until I went OTR... All the flatness, bullracks, fertilizer chassis, lowboys, hopper bottoms, and the like I ever pulled didnt have a number aside from VIN and lisence plate.

    86scotty Thanks this.

I was thinking about that very thing when I made that post above. If you aren't reefer or van you probably don't need one.

Pick a number out of thin air... Your daughter just turned 9, you've been divorced for 4 years, you had diarrhea 7 times this month...

    There's your trailer number... 947.

    Lol

A location in Arizona would not load because my Truck and Trailer# s did not match what the broker had gave them. If the # on the trailer was different than the 1 the company gave them, no load. By the time the broker called and said , you can go get the load, I was in Nevada with a simple load. Safety is big on Bol # s.
