Penndot needs out of state trailers inspected for vin number verification only.once u got that done than u can put a federal highway inspection.
That only applies if you own the trailer and need to transfer the title, not what the op is asking

Arkansas issues a permanent plate for trailers. 125.00 all in. Then of course the ad-valorem tax, I can't remember if we pay sales tax on the wagon or not.

I believe you must register and insure the trailer before it moves, no such thing as a temporary plate. I am sure one phone call to the leasing people would clear everything up.

You misunderstood what I was meaning. The op asked about getting a Pa plate. One of the things to consider is if the trailer will be in Pa often to get inspected. Pa used to require a Pa inspection sticker. I've heard that has changed but can find no official proof.
Say the trailer is out of state for a couple of months and comes back with a good federal highway but an outdated Pa sticker you could get a fix it ticket.

There is a 30 day temp tag. You can't haul frieght with it though. I agree with calling the leasing co. to find out about the license.
Haskell Registration is another place in Maine that can issue a license plate.

On a similar topic, is there a better state to register the tractor unit in, and a similar service to staab to handle this? I've just bought a truck and incorporated in DE.

Hi, I need your support/advise.. here is the situation: I bought a semi trailer (dry van) in Florida, and the Trk business is located in Texas, is there any way I can bring the trailer to Texas with a load(working) with temp tags and Florida inspection, and then I can register it here in Texas? or what would be the best option?.
    Thanks

Yes, you can load the trailer with temp tags. But I wouldn't recommend you register it with Texas. You should register it with the state of Maine. In fact, you can get the registration process started before you even pick-up the trailer. Go to StaabAgency.com, give them a call and they will actually answer the phone and break down exactly what you need to do as if you were a newbie. They are an awesome group of people. I suggest you get a 5-yr registration.

Idaho and California also. Lifetime plate. Meaning no renewal.

And yes. Trailers haul freight with temp tags. See it all the time. And my last company did it with 6 brand new flats.
