I pick up loads all the time out of the yard that aren't sealed. I just toss one on, write the number on the BOL. If any problems arise, I point out that I picked the load up out of our yard, I didn't sign the bills as the pickup driver and the trailer was sealed when it left the yard, which is the truth.

unless the seal is computer printed on the bills, or signed by a shipper employee, adding your own seal adds nothing to load security/integrity. You could have written and added that seal number at any time en route after poaching the load or worse contaminating it!
The qualcom is your best method of communication. Messages are stored on the qualcom server and can not be deleted by the company!
Note the condition of the trailer/load and go get those miles!

Just write the seal number in the same color ink as she shipper signed it near his name.

You would be surprised (or maybe not) at what drivers will miss in their hurry to get their load and on the road.

And don't just check the seal number. Make sure it is properly affixed!
Not like this one!

Not sure who's idea it was to put the customer's seal on the left and our company bolt seal on the right.... then hand write the bolt seal number on the bills!
I guess the receiver has to call the shipper and get a sworn oath from the security guard that let the trailer leave the shipper like that, four days ago! That is standard operating procedure and totally not an inconvenience...
