When I was running overweight aggregate, I heard of one blow out taking out the other three. Never saw it myself. Could be another "truckers tale," I suppose.

Don't forget that the side with the blown tire isn't going to hold the load as level either. This means the single tire is going to end up getting a smidgen more weight from that fact as well.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

How much does a smidgen weigh? Last i heard it was worth two birds in the hand.
A trucker at the coffee counter said it used to weigh the weight of an elephants instep. Not sure if thats true yet.

Back when I was hauling logs, I blew a tire on my way to deliver a load...was told "get there", and I wasn't far out...so I reduced my speed and tried to limp it in. Nope. Blew the other one a few miles later.
Yeah, it was heavy. Tires were probably overloaded with the duals...REALLY overloaded as a single. Not much I could do after the 2nd tire blew but pull over & wait for a couple tires to be brought to me.dan31186 Thanks this. -
I asked this question before I knew the cause of my side by side flats....first time experiencing any trailer flat....
Well I guess my brake lines froze up along with a slight leak in the air drum which stopped my wheels from turning...I may have driven for like 30 miles before I sensed something wasnt right..
I was driving at night; approximately an hour or two before dawn. Bad weather; Moderate snowfall; Snow and slush on the road and traffic speed was like 40-45 mph instead of the usual 65.....so I'm guessing I was "skating" or "sledding" those tires. It wasn't till the roads became just wet and the snow disappeared that I felt like I couldn't get my speed past 50 mph on level ground...felt like my gross weight was 100k lbs instead of the 41k I was at...
Also I had my differentials locked for better traction and I remember before the roads became just wet that my traction control light kept coming on ....thought it was just icy patches but now I believe it was my truck trying to keep my speed and there was some drag even in the snow and it would cause my drive tires to slip trying to pull the flat tires...
So I guess nighttime coupled with snowy roads kinda hid my problem.....nobody alerted me although I did turn my CB off to shut off some guys talking about work stuff I couldn't make sense of...and forgot to turn it back on...oops. Perhaps someone may have tried to tell me. I don't knowrolls canardly and SingingWolf Thank this. -
I doubt it. They were too busy talking about not having any panties on, and telling each other "SHUT UP, STUPID!"
