Well I am a Michelin fan. On my end dump I run Galaxys. They are 16 ply and have held up to the heat and weights I haul here in Bama.

Haha maybe I should have been more specific! Michelin, Bridgestone, Firestone, etc basically any tier 1 steer tire. During the last few years you couldn't be extremely picky!Last edited: Jun 29, 2024

Well, good to see you have a sense of humor. Myself I really like firestones on the front end.
I've had no trouble getting them.
Most of the time it's really all about the alignment and everything being straight, truck and trailer for mileage anyway.ElmerFudpucker Thanks this. -
Yokohama makes some of the heavy truck Galaxies for Alliance . Hercules makes some of their Ag and construction tires
ElmerFudpucker, NightWind and Deere hunter Thank this. -
Galaxy's are made and owned by Yokohama. From what I have read India has the most advanced tire production plants in the world now

Michelins? You must be loaded. No pun intended. Goodyears are made in China now isn’t that nice? Saw some on an Amazon trailer. Lots of garbage Chinese tires out there but this brand I run and I wish I could remember the name have been amazing. Running a dry van. Starts with an A I think. Bought at a local tire shop in VA. southern tire once sold me Zenni I think? GARBAGE! Never seen tires wear down so fast or so uneven. Double coin also not impressed with and they cost as much as any other.

I’ve never heard of galaxies. I don’t run a spread any more but do run a quad which is a high scrub application. Michelin’s hold up well, and continental holds up well. But honestly I run a lot of sumitomo. They wear decent and are a lot cheaper. I’m constantly picking up bolts, nails, screws and other things in my tires. It hurts less to destroy a 400 dollar tire than it does a 700 dollar tire.

for those of you who bad mouth the other big brands for selling out to China. Michelin has had a plant there since 2000. This one was in 2013 and was one of the biggest ones in the world. They just opened another one in April this year even bigger.Deere hunter and ElmerFudpucker Thank this. -
Well hell they aren’t an American company to begin with.Deere hunter Thanks this.
