Yep. Those continental tires are so good there isn't a viable competitor.

There is a dealer in Jacksonville that can get them with advance notice but I don’t remember the name. What sucks is if you have a road hazard incident like cutting a sidewall- it is almost impossible to get a replacement on the road

I was using the Continentals and would carry a new spare for that reason.

To use my carriers national account and get the discounts I have to use Pomps.

Finally made it in today. Went ahead and pulled the trigger for 8 new Continental HSR2. $100 more per tire than what I pay for the BFG ST230. Hopefully they do better than these Generals that MAC put on. Only complaint with them.

You will be happy with them. Well worth the extra money.

I know you already made your choice ... But, in the future. I've had HSR2's and SP160's. For the price, the SP160 wins out.

I have found the replacing shocks annually, and putting centramatics (snake oil .. but seems to make tires last longer) really helps out with the standard killer of spread tires ... cupping on the inner sidewall of an inside tire.

Is there HSR2 and HSR2 SA or are they one in the same?

Mine are doing excellent. Been on the trailer for 3 years and easily 70% left. I can't tell you exactly how many miles tat ous cause i don't have a hubmeter on the trailer and quite honestly I'm too lazy to go through my notebook and add up the mileage of the power only loads I've done but based on the mileage of the truck when they went on minus a guesstimate from bobtail or power only miles they have 125k minimum. I expect over 200k miles out of them, maybe even more. On a spread axle with old shocks(factory shocks, trailer pulled the first load January of 13) and not balanced and the alignment is off just a tad.
