So you get 50k miles out of them and that is satisfactory?

Yep. Not buying a $500 tire that might bust in the rock quarry or hit a curb.

Well its your money. Me, id rather spend 500 once than 235 5 times. PLUS an extra 4 mount and dismount at an average of 35 each, per tire. Not including disposal fees.
So with 8 tires that equals a difference of 8640 dollars. For more than 8 grand ill take the extra time to not hit curbs.

    I'M on the same page.

I get the BFG ST230 for $360 a tire. Not as cheap as the Double Coin or Aeola. But they are the best I have tried and did just as good as as the $520 Bridgestone my carrier bought me when I bought his trailer.

That's why I was hesitant to spend the money on these. Problem was my only other options were Yoko's 023, Firestone 561 or some really expensive Good Year.

    Meh,... just money.

If you can do goodyear ... you should be able to get dunlop. Same manufacturer. I get all my SP160's from Wingfoot / Goodyear commercial tire. That's another good thing about them, can get them almost anywhere across the country. Hate having mismatched brand / tread. The OCD pain is real ;)

I don't know anything about the 70's but I just bought some General HT 295/75R22.5 for $289 (FET included) from McGriff in the SE and if they are as good as the ST250 they are replacing I will be a happy trucker. I don't do Chinese Tires so can't comment on the Ironman.

Thats what came with my trailer,. except step deck here. 255/70 22.5. MAC calls them a premium tire,. LOL. They are junk on a spread axle.

I can get the General ST250 255/70 for $360 a tire through my carriers national account. I wanted the BFG ST230 ($360 a tire) but they did not have my size in stock. I was under a load and did not have time to go too far out of route to another store.

Rather pay the $486 a tire for the Continentals and hope they do as well as the BFG than to deal with the short life of the General ST250 again.

I also looked at the General HT. I can get those for $242 a tire in the 255/70 size. The cheap price scared me away. Made me think of Double Coin or Aeola. I'd rather pay once and get a good tire than to deal with constant tire issues.
