Hi, I am fairly new around the forum, and am in the process of starting school at the end of this month. I am doing night classes at Trainco Truck Driving School in Perrysburg, Ohio. I received WIA funding through Lucas County and they are paying for EVERYTHING...including reimbursing me for clothing, fuel, car payments during school....everything while doing this. I applied about 6 months ago, and because truckers are in such demand around here (with I-75, US 23, I-80/90 running right past Toledo, and the proximity to Detroit, Chicago, Indy, Pittsburgh...) they chose me out of over 1200 applicants to start now.
I plan on updating this thread on a daily basis if I can, and will post my experience all the way through, not only schooling but all the way until I get my own rig. I hope this thread is active, and I will keep up on it as much as possible.
Any questions I can answer, I will answer. Veterans...please post up as well...we need all the help we can get!
Forgot to mention that Trainco is PTDI certified, and has all the accreditations that matter.

So far I have had a wonderful experience with Trainco. They will be helping me get my class A with every endorsement, as well as my passenger and school bus endorsement. They test on site, and in the vehicles that you train in. The instructors know the best on-road tricks from lots of experience, and are more than willing to show you what they know. They make it clear what shortcuts are okay, and which ones are not. They show you the RIGHT way, and show you all the wrong ways to do things.
So far, so good. -
Best of Luck to you I went there tooo

Mike,
They chose you, out of 1200 other people, to start now. ??
How does that work ??? -
There were a LOT of applications for funding for various schools. Not just CDL school...but for the WIA funding in general.
i guess they go through the applicants and decide on which will have the best opportunity upon graduation...I didn't really ask too many questions on that front, I just went with it.
123456 Thanks this.
