signs similar to these are all over. imo its good practice not to use jakes within city limits and small towns.

Watkins-Shepard has a terminal in Sayreville,NJ and hire new cdl grads.
Several good hazmat/tanker companies hire in NJ, such as Superior-Carriers where you can easily make $60K+.

First - the trainer is an idiot. He may have had good intentions that were poorly communicated, but that still makes him an idiot.

Second - it is a good idea to understand how to go thru hill country without an.engine brake. As Chinatown pointed out the Jake's don't always work. In low traction using the Jake makes a Jack knife more likely - especially for inexperienced drivers. I know most of us could go down a luge track in 18 gear, 60,000 lbs of cargo in an ice storm and not have a problem. Newbies need to be taught how to.not fall out of bed.

No, I live in Henderson,NV & Beijing, China.
Here's some tanker outfits to check for future reference:
    Superior-Carriers
    CTL Transportation
    Tidewater Transit
    Trimac Transportation
    SVTN
    Schneider Bulk

Many drivers with Trimac "Elite Fleet" make $100K+ after 24 months experience.
