The BEST companies have reduced their requirement of being at your current job for 5 years, before applying with them to...
A years experience.
It will tighten up if the economy tanks. But for now. Drivers are in the drivers seat
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
"Out of Sight, Out of Mind"
For future reference:
Next time (and there will be a next time) you need a deskjockey to do something for you, don't just sit and wait. Blow their phone up. Call twice a day. Call when they get to their desk. Call after lunch. It will wear them down. They will dread speaking to you.
Luck in battle. -
I'd wait it out... When I went to Werner years ago I went through 3 trainers because the 1st 2 were slobs and morons.. and the last one really knew what he was doing.... You can't drive a truck for 6 months and then become a trainer thinking you know what your doing... wait it out, a good trainer will show up..

I'll get there when I get there? You did your part. I wouldn't say a peep anymore and just sit there in in your room watching soaps on there dime until someone finally catches on.

I love blowing peoples phone up. Even family. Life is too short to sit idly by because some dip #### doesn’t have their act together.
If I have to call you, I have a problem. And you will continue to get calls until it is solved.
My most recent call went out to my adult daughter. First words out of my mouth, do you need assistance? Can I call 911 for you?
Three hours late, because Christmas shopping. Baaa Humbug -
True, I see companies now offering sign on bonuses that once required 5 years and never hired unless there was a retirement. And they usually already had someone lined up for his replacement.SteerTire Thanks this.

Sad but true :/
My dream job (in my younger years), required 5 years at the same company and the ability to stay out for 9 months. Actual driving time was about 40 hours every 2 weeks. Team operations. The waiting list was long, very long.
Now, they hire warm bodies. And go through drivers like the Mega companies. -
First, are you aware that a MAJOR snowstorm has dropped a good bit of snow from Texas across to North Carolina and Virginia. 2 people have died in NC. Before you get all upset make sure this trainer is not stuck out in this mess. Trucking is about patience. Contact the company and find out what is going on. I live in Virginia and had a Doctors appointment canceled because of this weather. Maybe I'm just in a crotchety mood this morning. However these days it just seems like everybody defaults to gripe and moan gripe and moan if things don't go their way. Hopefully the company is paying for your hotel and you are getting student pay. If so kick back and relax. Trust me after you get rolling you will be glad you did.Lepton1, LoSt_AgAiN, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this.

I see your point, but over a week is a bit excessive.Lepton1 Thanks this.
