Alright, posting this only made it more confusing. When in doubt, "don't ask" is becoming my new rule of thumb in this industry.

Don't ask. Don't voice an opinion. Don't give feedback. Don't think. Don't voice concerns. Don't bother. Don't talk. Should be my new outlook on things. Any one of those things only causes problems.

Thinking I should just quit anyway.

Top gear being od or direct has less to do with the driver, more to do with the transmission

With that attitude, maybe you should, being a pessimistic defeatist is not a strategy to endear yourself to anyone.

Dont kid yourself into thinking life in general is any different though. If hearing 8 opinions from 6 people is hard, you need to avoid humans and live a hermits life

    Soooooooo....to recap:

Too many shifting opinions on how to shift gears has shifted your thinking to maybe shifting to another job?

Also--if you quit, you will look both shiftless and shifty to others--possibly resulting in other opportunities (driving--or not) shifting away from you.

Or has your attitude shifted to the point where you just no longer give a shift? :p :D

PLEASE NOTE--the above post was meant to merely be a light-hearted way of shifting you away from quitting. :)

So I’m curious were we supposed to say the trainer is wrong get a new one or????? I mean it’s hard to know what you want us to say if you don’t tell us.

Sometimes there are several ways to do the same thing......doesn’t mean one is right or wrong. Whether it’s truckin, flipping burgers, or piloting a space ship you are going to encounter very similar instances. You can make excuses or excel. Getting an auto will remedy the whole problem just hold it on the rug

Based on the above posts--does anybody think maybe it's high time I shift away from being a night shift driver? ;) :p

But you're not a night shift driver. Night shift is from 2100 to 0500, and ONLY those hours. Since you worked more than that, you're a daytime driver. The OP wants to deal in absolutes, so shape up driver!

No body’s railing on you. We are just saying there are many different terms used for the same function. Like why do some trucks have “lamps” marked on switches and others have “lights”. Heck Autocar used to have all their toggle switches mounted to were “off” was in up position while in the rest of the world that meant “on”.
If you ever get the chance to go to an antique truck show sometime and hang around with the old timers and enthusiasts your mind will be blown with all the different terminology and way to do things in the truck world.
Something to learn to broaden the mind but not to quit over.
