They are doing that now, flatbed students with flatbed trainers, van students with van trainers... I really don't think that it hurts for a student to have more than one trainer. It is always helpful to have a second set of eyes on a student, one trainer might pick up on something that the first trainer missed. As long as we all train off from the same script, there really should not be a problem. We pass students from one trainer to another all the time, I know it is a pain for planning, but it is part of life. If you are on a regional fleet you really should still be able to train. As I said before, talk to your FM, and then talk to Roger. You need to do it becuase you want to help others, not just because you are looking for a couple of extra bucks. If you do it just for the money you will fail.

I had four trainers when I came to Roehl, and got a different perspective on driving from all four. It was a good experience seeing different ways of doing things safely

I know several of the students that I had, were just with me for a day or two. It was still enough time to teach a few things, or watch and see if they had any trouble spots. When a student and trainer are with each other for a couple of weeks, you kind of get into a rut, and it is easy to overlook things that are not quite right, and then they could have trouble when it comes time for them to test out. The most common problem that I used to see, is that the student would get in with me after 7-10 days and not have a clue how to do a real pre-trip. They know how to walk around the truck and recite the list from the CDL test, but had no clue what they were really looking at. Then I would take a couple of hours and start at the front and go to the back. You just have to be willing to spend the time it takes for a student to learn.

Not to mention spending two weeks with the same person in a truck when you're not used to it really can get to you as a person... hey I got a little tired of my first trainer had hometime in between but could tell we were both feeling some type of way. Lol. Then there was my second trainer. I can't get rid of him. I hear him asking me 20 questions now. Sometimes I think I still hear his voice.
Did you say something PA? Lol
