Hey again, update here: so, I spent some time in the running for several excellent local and regional positions with a few big names including Schneider. And then while trying to register for the clearinghouse, after a month of ridiculous calls and emails back and forth with everyone on earth, I learned that there was some clerical error when registering my CDL, so all of these companies and the FMCSA were looking me up and not seeing my CDL. So that was awesome. Honestly, that nonsense took up almost a solid 6 weeks to fix. Luckily, while I was sorting that out, the only company that didn't treat me like just a number in a pile of applications was XPO. They understood I had an uncommon issue to fight through and they worked around it until it was the last thing they needed from me. So in the end, I wound up landing a well-paying home daily spot with my local XPO like 15 minutes from home! There will be a decent amount of dock work as well as driving, but everything else seems well worth it to me. I start next Monday and I'm so ready to go!
