Thanks,It seems I'm starting to stumble on more job opportunities. All I need is the interview and I should be all set. Applied to another semi local/regional job. looking for experience and drivers so I filled out the application. It pays $233 per trip 4 trips a week 3 days off. Wish me luck, Then I found a recruiters ad for a local tank yanker looking for experience but employer will train.Filled out app. I'll keep you all posted

Found out today that the heating oil company only pays $14 hr.I was making 15 hr doing landscaping and that will start back up in a couple of weeks. I like the job but I have my CDL A and tractor trailer is what I'm looking for. The only exception is THIS 1 COMPANY THAT PAYS MID $20'S TO DO A COMBO OF HEATING OIL AD FUEL TANKERS

Hope you feel better mike. I talked to the heating oil people and told them I cant take the position because I will keep trying to get into tractor trailer work. I went to GREYLAWN FOODS for there fuel/yard jockey position. Pay is low $13 hr with ot and the owner and I had a straight talk about what I want. I want to drive the truck, he said "ok" so you'll do this until spring and I know you'll be looking for a trucking job. Working for us we'll talk with the insurance carrier and see when we could move you in a truck if not I know you"ll move on. I went back for a second walk around after my whiz quiz, met my supervisor and checked out the equipment learned a little about thermo king system. Seems like I'm in a win win situation and can know hold off for one of the local companies I talked to both union and non union. At first I was told to stay away from reefer units as a newbie but it seems the local reefer units are going to give you a shot faster than others. At least it looks that way.

Geno a skid pad is this area the size of a football field its smoothed concrete and they run these sprinklers on it blasting water. You drive the tractor trailer flatbed on at at about 30mph going through cones while someone pulls the trolly brake makeing the truck go sideways and you have to recover from it.
