She could probably make more teaching online depending on her masters

Henderson will probably work then. She will have a private hotel room and meals while in classroom training.
    She will need:
    original birth certificate
    original social security card-not laminated
    cheap work gloves
    flashlight
I usually recommend a sleeping bag and pillow, but she won't need that because she will be with you and won't need seperate bedding.

The hardest part of CDL school is pre-trip inspection. She can start now by studying YouTube videos and the DMV manual. Also study the CDL test questions on here.

You're absolutely right! Every company does things differently. So training will be involved. The length of training will different depending on the company.

Her masters is in criminal justice, but I guess everyone else in nyc has the same major cause she's been having a rough time. Thanks I'll def get in touch with Henderson. I definitely plan to get in touch with carriers as the deadline dwindles down. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience in this particular situation really.

There are no team loads on the van side at Henderson and very few on the reefer side. Many of the teams have left because of this. Do your homework well. The van side is mostly east of I35 so not many loads that require teaming. You can get anywhere they run, solo in 2 days.

While I was with Swift as a trainer, one of my first trainees, with several years experience in straight trucks, took advantage of a program where he finished training and immediately took orientation to become a trainer. IIRC this is the "friends and family" program, which allows you to train your spouse or a friend to become your team member.

I stay in touch with them. They started out deep in debt, sold everything and have been living on the road for over two years now. Debts were retired within a year and they expect to be able to buy a house for cash within two more years.

Wow, that's great to hear. That's definitely a plan we've been working on. We're in our mid 20's but you're never too young to work on your future. Thanks for the input you guys. I'll def keep this in mind.

Swift has driver facing cameras and sound monitoring technology in the truck. They can hear you talking.

Yeah forget about that lol, I'm not that desperate. I'm sure we'll find some outfit that can work for us.
