Appreciate it y'all! Training is almost done with. I blew my miles out the window in the past couple weeks. This week and next are going to be my final rounds. I caught up to guys that were way ahead of me. Once I got comfortable and he actually started training me. I kept my door closed and just hauled &$$

If your trainer was going light on the miles in the beginning, there may have been a method to his madness. I was in a similar circumstance with my trainer at Swift, he would bang out most of the miles and only give me the short end of hauls. Then I had a pointed discussion with him, letting him know I wanted more time at the wheel and things changed.

Fast forward to when I became a trainer I was bound and determined to give as many miles to my trainees as possible. If the load allowed it, they ran the whole thing. But after a few trainees I found that not all are cut out to maximize miles. One trainee in particular struggled to average 380 miles for a full day's driving with nothing to do but drive. On his best day he did 525 miles, second best was 410 miles. We're not talking about days with pickups and deliveries, just wide open driving days. He nearly cost me service failures a few times.

It's trainees like that that will make a trainer gun shy about turning the full responsibility of driving over to a trainee.

Lol my best so far is only 630 miles. But that was with Atlanta traffic. So I don't feel too bad. This past week I got 3700 miles.
