I'm about to start training with Sni in Fontana. Has anyone had any experience there? Do they still have a skid pad? Do I really need insulated overalls...I mean...this IS California, ya know?!
As far as speed governors go I'll hold my opinion, but coming down that long grade out of Flagstaff I got passed by an owner/op doing over 90mph. Nearly blew me and my trailer off the road. Didn't see any wreckage when I got to where I thought he'd gone...but then they do have some deep canyons in Arizona. As a former News photographer I've seen some nasty truck wrecks. Don't really know if speed was the cause or some lame 4 wheeler but...
By the way...if you think you get BS'd a lot...try the film industry. Sheesh!

As far as insulated overalls... where are you comming from? It is all relative. If you think that mid fifties is cold then you might want to get a pair cause it does get to that temp in Fontana late at night and early in the morning. The lows and highs for this week are 45-55 and 85-95
TennMan Thanks this. -
I'm heading to Fontana for orientation with SNI on Oct 6th. I asked the recruiter about the insulated coveralls and she said not to worry about it, that my trainer would tell me where I can pick some up etc....She said I'll need them for the winter months but right now they are not necessary.
I'm all for them in the winter though, it's cold, wet and when you put chains on you'll thank yourself since it's a dirty job.TennMan Thanks this. -
I'd like to head back to Fontana soon......................soon but not now
