Oxman, those are all great things to refresh, however I believe as far as most of that goes, one day in a truck will bring it all back. Its like riding a bike! I would concentrate, like you said, on logs and the current rules and regs. There are a few new logging rules (course they always change) and like the other poster mentioned the pretrip.

I wouldn't sweat it! You will be fine. Will probably end up surprising yourself.

    Good luck man.....

most drivers are not starved out of the industry. Most should have been told by the school what it truly means to drive OTR pay your dues to get into better positions. Many shouldn't have been allowed thru schooling because of background issues. No one realizes that going to an orientation is just an extended interview. The country was a better place when you entered the service before you did 30 days in the county and men learned discipline and work ethic. Newbies coming in expecting great jobs with great equipment from companies that are going to hold theier hand are not driving 2 years later. The lifestyle isn't for everyone and the romance of the road is a myth. That said there is an ### for every seat in trucking but like every profession one must pay thier dues to get to the plush seats.
I started as a commercial fisherman in 1972 in a little 30 foot boat that leaked so much it would have sunk if the batteries died crewed behind great captains built my resume until in 1984 built a million dollar swordfish boat state of the art. Twenty Five years later buisness changed and so i did too. Today I am glad to be here a far cry from the $225/ week i was making on unemployment in Jan.
The doomsayers inbreds one tooth wonders that havn't done anything but move down the highways and only build themselves up by knocking others down are not always correct this is still a good occupation with common sense and planning your next step
