Seattle, San Diego, Vegas, Denver, Albuquerque, Dallas, Nashville, Pensacola, Atlanta, Raleigh.
Initially when I started searching, CRST came up for all, and TMC came up for two. Then as I progressed, Jim Palmer and Wil-Trans started popping up for cities they weren't in just minutes prior. So now, most of those cities will show CRST, Jim Palmer, and Wil-Trans.
Maybe they decided just tonight that they needed to fill up a training class and clicked on whatever button they click on to start getting leads. Maybe one company owns the other, which would explain the coincidence. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Haven't formally applied to any of those. CRST wants team drivers only. TMC is flatbed only and wants strong guys under 40. Don't know anything about the others.
I'm learning a little at a time, such as, a company's hiring area is one thing,...where they have 'yards' (terminals) is quite another. That also narrows it WAY down. Whatever I do, I'll live in the same city where I'm getting time off. I wish there were a quick and easy way to list all the yards/terminals for each of the companies that show up in the search results. It's too time consuming to find that out one by one before you bother to apply. Most won't even put it on their websites. All you know is that if they train newbies, the city you travel to is one of their terminals.
The reason I say I'm flexible is because there's more I need to learn. For example, I don't understand why anyone would want to creep along over ice and snow when they could rack up so much more mileage running I-20.
I'd also be interested in part-time, but I realize there's zero chance of that happening in year one, and such companies are probably few and far between anyway. I'm assuming there are no 'on call' drivers. That would be Uber at $8/hr once you decide to go 'available' on your iPhone.Last edited: Apr 15, 2019

Btw, I went to Lone Star Community College Transportation Institute in Houston. It was far and away better than ANY training you will recieve by a trucking co who teaches you just enough to drive down the road and hold that steering wheel.haulit6272 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
