I am willing to do what it takes. I am just concerned about my crohns and the unpleasant things that follow it. I just feel very uncomfotable about it. I could require bathroom breaks every two hours and even when I am sleeping I wake up for washroom breaks.

I drive up to 11 hours in a day. Usually more like 8.5. I go to bathroom (take a dump) at 5am. I drive at 530am. Pull over 2-4 times during the day. If I need a real toilet any time during the day, I pull off to a rest stop for 5 mins. At night I park at a truckstop because I know I will need that toilet stall again the next morning at 5am. I think you can do this job. Ask for a patient and tolerant trainer. Btw I had to do 2 week in-house orientation before I even went to a driver trainer truck. That is where you may learn how to do what you need without everyone questioning it. Don't mention your issue. Just my opinion. Good luck

My company did not have us team driving during my training. No trying to sleep while he dives. Only I drive while he "trains" (talks smack about everyone and tells you what not to do). We did not both drive. That means both of us shut down at night. Go to the bathroom as often as you need.

Definitely go to a company that does not do team training. Make sure your trainer sits in jump seat while you drive and you are stopped while asleep so you can get out as needed. Not sure if they hire out of Miami but Watkins Shepherd might be an option as their training time is more suited to your needs. @Chinatown could be a big help in recommending suitable companies for you.

Thank you very much truckermania. I will definitely look into it. What is your opinion about working for a small Mom and pop Trucking company?

That is the standard practice, so if you can't do that you may not be able to do Otr all of us have done the same thing so you've just got to put up with it for a week and you'll be fine.

If you can find one it can be a good place to start. I work for a small company in South Dakota and they hired a new driver without requiring him to do any overnights with anyone. Even let him practice on their trucks and use their truck to do his cdl test. Best wishes! Your situation is difficult but not hopeless.

Welcome to the scam than is trucking!! Try to find a smaller company they might let you go home daily during training. Hell, try Pepsi, Coke, or beer. Even food service or ltl
