I would imagine there are ups and downs at every company. I read how Broke Down 69 dealt with them, and I hope I'm half as understanding and patient as he is.
TruckDrivingtn and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
BD I just got caught up on your thread, wow! They treated you horribly! Clearly their number one asset isn't their drivers! I wish you luck with your new job and definitely check your DAC.

I have an app into Ezzell Trucking out of Eastern NC. They haul wood chips in Eastern NC and SE Va. A local job that will have me sleeping in my bed EVERY night or day as I would be working nights. But just to be working... Family run business, advertise 42k/year. If it's remotely close I think I would be happy. No more eating at t/s. Any advice? You guys have been fantastic. BD 69, you are overdue for a good run. Best to you, BRO! You newbies, experiences may vary. My time at TA wasn't as bad, though I had breakdowns in cities from Raleigh to Albert Lea MN to Dallas TX. Any long breakdowns TA will send you a bus or plane ticket to recover an abandoned lease truck to keep you moving and giving you loads. Lesson there don't lease. Learn the industry on their dime not yours. You will be swapping loads frequently to insure on time delivery or to get you or another driver home. Expect to be out 3-4 weeks at a time and don't expect to get Christmas off. Too many drivers who stayed out months without hometime to insure Christmas off. TA has to keep 50 percent of their fleet ACTIVE through the holidays. They don't pay too good but consider it an apprenticeship for 6-12 months then move on. Longer is better if you can hack it. Best wishes!
