We have not been doing that. We have direct deposit. With payday normally being Friday, George's check usually shows up Monday morning. Thought I saw a post saying TA would be paying early this pay period because of the holiday. Thanks for mentioning the web site for checking it out, though. Happy Fourth of July, Everyone! Be safe and enjoy the festivities!

Happy 4th everyone! The King is home and we plan on just enjoying the day at home. The local fireworks were last weekend so that could everyone attend Springfield's big show if they wanted to.
jungHo and jaso, how is your weather holding up? I haven't had time to look yet today.
dennisroc, enjoy your Fourth of July with your family!

I have lost track of everyone this week ....it has been a long week with much happening. Sooooo.....it's time for everyone to check in!

Settlements were posted yesterday. I imagine this does little for those who receive direct deposit as the banks are on holiday today. I have my check out on my fuel card and then have hubby authorize an EFS check and deposit in our bank account same day. I have a feeling that direct deposit people will get their pay on Monday as usual.

Thanks for the update. It lead me to read more about this rig. Seems it uses a combination of systems to keep the truck moving safely on the road. Radar sensors, camera and V2V/V2I communication (Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Infrastructure (solar roadway you posted about) – exchange of information). Interesting stuff, thanks again!

One related item I came across: "Sweden's Scania, a unit of Volkswagen , is among peers working on 'platooning' technology that allows several trucks to travel in tight convoy with a sole human driver in the lead vehicle"

That seems like a cool idea and I could see how that type of driverless truck could be the first to see action in the real world.

Now, if they can invent something to open the trailer doors and unload it then my job will be done, please god, give someone the information they need to invent it.

My thought as a non-driver who's only experience is listening to and researching driver related issues is that one of the first things to be developed robotically should be a truck and docking system that would eliminate some of the problems in tight loading docks.......something that took the responsibility of a torn up mirror, etc. off of the driver. The King works for a small company that does a lot of broker loads and many of them are pick ups or deliveries at places that give an experienced driver a massive headache. In fact his company told the drivers recently that if it didn't look like they could safely dock a truck at a shipper to drop the trailer and let them do it.

Happy 4th to all! I am in eastern Oklahoma now. I have been getting the best miles I have ever gotten with TransAm over the last three weeks. Not sure why, but runs, appointment times, unloads, etc. are fitting in like a glove with my 70 hour clock.

This ole, high mileage 660 is running like a champ <knock wood> so I have no complaints ... wait, of course I have complaints!

    - Got in a big fight with night/weekend dispatch last weekend, a DM that I did not know, had not worked with before. Had to get stupid (seems like they just blow you off if you act reasonable with them) until DM FINALY got a supervisor involved (I had been asking for one all along) who solved the problem.

    - I am noticing that miles needed to complete a run are back out of line. For a brief time, when they got rid of route solutions, my actual miles where close to my paid miles. Again, I have to run significantly more miles to complete a run than what I am paid for.

That off my chest, I have to give TransAm credit, I am pleased and satisfied that I chose to return with TransAm.
