Mobile repair came out and put a temp patch on my fuel line leak (rubber sleeve with 2 clamps). I need to go to a KW dealer in the morning, after I make my final delivery and have it permanently repaired. I really like my preplan going back to Nebraska, I hope they can get the repair done in time not to screw it up!
HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
when are you suppose to be in Nebraska
i will be passing thru thursday -
^ Delivers Columbus, NE Friday morn. , come to think of it, not really a great preplan (too much time built-in), but after running in the Southeast for the better part of two months, I will be happy to get back on I-80.
It will also give me a chance to swing by and check out a house on the market, off I-80 in Iowa. I'll keep you posted, maybe we'll have a chance to grab a bite to eat. -
The King always stops at Kuttawa also. I don't think he has ever had trouble finding a place to park there .....it's kind of an in between the big cities place so not as crowded.passport220 Thanks this.

Latest article about the driver in Detroit

I haven't seen any news reports that confirm this, but several drivers delivering in the St. Louis area are saying that they have had bricks thrown at their windshields. Whether it is true or not, this is still an area of unrest and anger at this time and it is best to be extra vigilant when traveling on I 270 north.

Great info as always HTQ. Very sad that the world is such a dangerous place.
Maybe truckers should be allowed to carry weapons. It seems to me that with being in all those different places and having a truckload of merchandise you are just like a store owner who has the right to carry a weapon.
I was watching the today show and seen a lawyer for the comedian that was hit by a truck and the lawyer said 75 truckers die each day mostly from being tired. I am not 100 percent sure that is what he said exactly but seems to be very high. And maybe most of the wrecks are caused by 4 wheelers.
Statistics are starting to suck but I am still very interested in becoming a driver.
Maybe at least stun guns for drivers , more safe parking , security officers and cameras at truck stops and outside of drop and pick up areas.
I am not one to look at all the negative points of trucking but when I hear about all the bad things it makes me think twice about taking my wife on the road. I know there are many drivers including women that never have any problems at all but still makes me wonder
jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -

At at rest area, near Polk City FL. Got to meet up with my folks in Ocala yesterday, showed them my truck(outside) and had a wafflecone and strawberry lemonade at one of the two Peelots off of x358 on I75. Told them I am really enjoying the trucking life and the job and they were really happy for me. Dropped my load of chicken wings and hot dogs off and scurried back to the I 4 corridor. Went over on my 14 as the first rest area was full except for the two handicap spots, but knew I couldn't park there, so tried the other side rest area and got the last legal spot. Picking up at Coca Cola in Auburndale headed for Denver but t-calling/swapping in Atlanta at the Peelot on 285 x51. Wish we could swap at Temple x19 I20. Is the 285 x51 a bad place? Anybody?
