I would never carry a gun in a commercial vehicle as I think it is illegal. I would try to have something like a hammer , tire tool , tire thumper or what ever if I got into some place and had to get out and people were all around in a bad neighborhood.

I am not some hot head wanting to be a gun toting fool but if it ever comes a time I need it to save a life of a loved one or myself i would for sure use it.

I also hope I would never have to use it but it is what it is.

I know the percentage is low and that is what keeps me interested in trucking. :)

Don't do it! That Pilot is a tiny overcrowded festering crap hole! Have TransAm swap numbers with the other driver and coordinate your own swap location!!!

George, it's hoodrat central. The pimp daddies and crack hooker's will show you a great time. That's if you can find a parking spot. You can always give a five spot to the local hood dwellers to find you a spot.

Really though, have your DM come out to that festering poophole and get a look see at the place, let them know it isn't clean enough or safe enough to take a deuce in.

Thanks for the input. Will text my dm right away. Would rather go to Temple or Commerce or even Madison. Thanks gang!!! Been sitting at the dock here for over three hours and no sign of starting me. Maybe they will cancel the swap and let me take this load to Denver myself!!!

    Good morning/afternoon everyone.

Panhandle, I am so sorry about your company's driver! I saw it on one of my pages but wasn't able to tell it was one of your company trucks. You are so right.....Pull it over if you are too tired or if you are feeling ill. It is not worth your life or anyone else's. Not only does switching your days and nights take physical toll on your body but also the stress and frustration is wearing. You have to know yourself and know when what you are feeling is not the "norm".

George, everyone is giving good advice about that truck stop. TransAm is normally pretty good about changing the location, and always get the other driver's number or have them give him/her yours. Change the swap location to a safer area.

Indiana and Kentucky DOT are working hard today. And Michigan has had some major flooding and has some roadways closed.

I'm sitting in line at the truck wash in Mt Vernon, TX to get a washout and truck wash. I don't often get the truck washed on the road... but this morning woke up with blood splatters all over my windshield and front end. I can only wonder what went on last night because ut was still daylight when I parked and my truck was not like this nor did I hit anything yesterday. I had a weird gut feeling about that place when I parked and now I definitely know I won't stay there again.
