I thought that might have been the KW that you had trouble with honeybadger.
I hope they can get your AC fixed, jaso. The King had trouble last week with his. He finished his pick up and delivery then took it in to Peterbilt be repaired, it didn't take long to get it fixed. The heat from just that one day of driving without air was enough to have him feeling sick. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids ....water, gatorade....so that you don't get dehydrated. And unfortunately we live during a time when folks avoid responsibility so be sure and document everything at KW ......especially since honeybadger has already had a bad experience with that particular one.

I've never had a problem with Kenworth before. But ever since the OKC mess, I verify everything and there are now notes in my account that driver must verify and approve all work. The only KW I'm still fairly relaxed about is MHC Olathe because the guys there know me and always take care of me since I get the bulk of my work done at that location.
I have been in Dodge City since yesterday afternoon. Went to pick up my load and Cargill this morning and as soon as I saw the bills I knew it was going to be a long day. 43k total, two stops, 35k coming off at the first stop. I just knew this wouldn't end well. Took it to Loves, scaled it, and confirmed what intuition told me. 34540 on the trailer. A tad steer heavy at 12700, but otherwise legal all around. And TN bridge law prevents me from stretching it out. So by 0800 I'm dropping the trailer back at Cargill to be reworked. They told me to check back in about 3 hours. Fine. 1100... nope not ready. Ugh, fine. 1230... still not ready. They're waiting for the guy who does the weight shifts to come in but he was on his way and should be in in a few minutes. Check back at 1400. 1400... guy still isn't there.
Yes, I'm on the warpath. I didn't even want this stupid load.gntorres61 and passport220 Thank this. -
i never worry about steers
and wont sit for a couple holes for a bridge law
but that is just mepassport220, gntorres61 and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
I never worried about steers if I had full tanks because I knew I'd burn that off.

Man!!! Guess I didn't realize just how stressed I'd been this last week. Got in the yard last night, visited with some drivers, and then laid down. Didn't wake up till almost 12 hrs later!!!! Body usually drives me out of bed after 8. Jaso, look to the north while your in OKC and wave to my brother. Your within 10 miles of him.
Got HT coming up this next weekend. So ready for it!!!!!gntorres61, passport220, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah, I would not love it, but as long as the gross was < 80K, I would have worked that one out myself also, instead of bringing it back for a rework. Tennessee does officially give a 550 lb APU exemption. Cut back fuel intake for breathing room.
That said, I find no fault with what Badger decided, better safe than sorry. Gotta go with what you are comfortable with. If I got a big ticket over it, I would have no one to blame but myself. But for the purpose of discussion, I would have ran it.
I have been asking for a preplan since yesterday, "no preplan exists for this unit" has been the reply. I went 009 an hour ago at a Walmart drop and hook near Dallas. Still no info about when I might run again. I am worried I will be sitting until Tuesday morning, when regular planning staff comes in to get something for me to pull <sigh>.Last edited: Aug 31, 2014

For anyone who does not know it, Sirius has a free preview going now until September 8th. The Sirius band in our TA trucks is now working. It has been going since August 26th but I just stumbled across it today.gntorres61 Thanks this.

I had it reworked because I've already had one too close for comfort encounter at a Scalehouse this week, I'm not pushing my luck. Only reason I didn't get an overweight ticket is because I could make it legal and the scalemaster was being nice!
Rework was finally done at 1615. OTD isn't possible. Plus I've got two blown axle seals on the trailer that I should fix when I pass through Salina.passport220 Thanks this. -
as long as your under 80000 there really aren't any big tickets
some states bridge law is actually more money then over axle
like the guy in the other transam thread that is worried about being on/off duty swapping
ANYONE that doesnt maximize his/her hours whether on elog or paper just isnt putting themselves in best position to make money
when i swapped with one of our drivers last week
I drove far enough west so she could get to Fontana and still get a 10 hour break before delivery
she screwed around and needed a break after the delivery so she had to sit around 24 hours to get loaded
I would have been back in Cheyenne WY by thenPanhandle flash Thanks this. -
