The thing is, right now ANY ticket would hurt us financially. Hubby's hours were cut to barely 20 per week and my income is the primary one. My weeks alternate me between good and crappy right now. When my longtime DM is in, life is good. Then when the new girl is in, it's mediocre at best unless my original DM pops in to save the day.

In regards to the trailer repair, I'm torn between what I want to do and what I should do. I know I SHOULD fix it, but so should all the drivers before me because this is too bad to have happened in the last trip. I want to say screw it and just drive because so far on this pay period I only have the 350 mile deadhead to Dodge.

I hope things get better for you honeybadger and that your husband gets his hours back. Could you ask your DM to plan you out as far as possible before the alternate comes in? I know that she used to be very good about planning her drivers out as far as possible.....but I don't know how this new dispatch system would fit in with that ability. Although, it seems like George's DM has him planned several loads ahead. At least maybe you would have good miles set up for part of the alternate week....and it wouldn't hurt to let her know that circumstances have changed and you need the miles to pick up. Good thoughts and prayers being sent your way.

It is tough with this new 2 dispatcher system. Patrick is easy to get on phone but I don't even try ever to call when Emily is in.

The bridge law only matters in Ca. I have driven in Tn. with tandems all the way back in Tn. many times and for many companies. The only time I worry about it is that blitz week. But you have to do what you feel comfortable with. As for the trailers if it isn't unsafe I roll. One or two little lights out no big deal roll, I have to put food on my table. You learn that lights out aren't what they pull you in for at weigh stations. ABS light if you feel you need to get it fixed get it fixed but don't ever drive for a big dry van company cause half the trailers have that problem. A lot do here to with these payments I do not have the 2-6 hours available to get it fixed and most DOT don't even notice it unless you get a level one and even then they don't know if it should be on or off. Once again that is your call. I will fix a mud flap myself and tire issues get fixed while at truck stop, as long as the tire is not blown out you will not get a ticket. I know safety trumps all but I have to make money. If things were fair I would get everything fixed. I will not run an unsafe trailer but when you get around to a few different companies go through a few inspections in many different states you learn a few things. For most on here this is your first company so what I just wrote might seem crazy but get back to me 2-3 companies down the road and re-read this and I bet you do the same thing.

Cranky I will try after Thursday. Good luck with move.

    Be safe out there

I promised myself, if I survived the summer with TRANSAM, I would order the SIRIUS satellite for my birthday (tomorrow). That day has come. My poor Sam Cooke CD is slam worn out (Portrait of A Legend 1953-1964). My question is do these Kenworth Stereo Decks require purchase of ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT? Do I order through the SIRIUS site?? I am so ready for NFL action while on the road. Go NINERS!! I love the stereo system in this truck. I am ready to kick it up a notch or two. Sitting here at the Peelot in Mebane NC waiting to get a shower, then make my 0845 delivery in Henderson NC. The scene where I lost my Abloy Iock. I wonder if anybody turned it in? I left it on the bumper and drove off nearly three months ago finishing up my first trip withTA. Yeah right. If I find it then I suppose dead pigs will start flying. Deuces.

if you turn your radio to channel 0 the serial code and 888 number come on
just call the number give them serial code and pay them
i think there is either basic pkg for like $15 or expanded for $25
then you get all the expanded sports mlb nfl fantasy etc

Actually got it going CY. GOT A FREE 90 DAY TRIAL. Got it playing all speakers in the sleeper. Just hope it includes the NFL. Great sound in the truck, too. Special thanks to JOHNBOY, BIG BRIN and Kenny Whitbeck, listening to Everly Brothers on the 50s channel. Musical Bliss is mine. Deuces.

Let me correct myself from earlier statement about the lights I meant if onbe or two clearance lights are out I will roll. If any light is out that I can reach I just fix it myself.

I pay whatever the minimum on sirius cause I do not want to pay more just to listen to my Mets stink. Love listening to the NFL great thing about sirius is you can listen to the home town announcers. Every game has to stations and the night game is usually on 3 for the neutral announcers. I have my own equipment my radio can pause up to 1 hour so when I am listening in on Sunday and the wife so rudely interupts my game I pause and FF through the commercials to catch up. Plus you can put 30 songs into memory so whenever they play it alerts me and up 60 preset stations. But mine is old had it 07 don't even see it anywhere anymore.

Crank aren't you suppose to be moving or something? I bet you are sitting there in a lawn chair and your drink with an umbrella in it just pointing where everything goes. Movie star glasses on almost breaking a sweat cause the sun is beating down on you.

Got this load less than 39,000 but way less than on bills cause just scaled out and just over 73,000 with full fuel tanks. lose 6,700 at first stop. First stop Stl. but won't make that today in Guyman, Ok doing my 30. should make it a good way into Mo. and get up early tomorrow for on time delivery. The rest is cake.

    Be safe out there
