Last year's winter was interesting enough. Uneventful would be welcomed but I know beter than that what with traveling the central US as I have. I remember getting shut down in Weatherford TX with Johnboy and the windstorm in Cheyenne Wyoming with Big Brin. Those stand out in memory. Me driving through the snow in Flagstaff AZ.

A couple of internet tips for today -
I know many of you stock up at WalMart while you are OTR. Have you signed up for their Savings Catcher app? You can download the app to your phone, scan in your receipts or type in the TC code, and it will compare local ads and prices. If they find a cheaper price it will refund the difference to your account. I use it and get back a few dollars here and there.
Another one that may come in handy is https://www.grubhub.com. You can type in your location and it will give you a list of local restaurants with delivery service, the menu for the restaurant, reviews, any specials and the amount of the delivery fee. You can set up an account, order and pay online or just use it as a directory. If you set up an account it will also send you a text with the status of your order. If you refer a friend by email, I think they have a $5 coupon special at this time.Panhandle flash, .honeybadger. and dennisroc Thank this. -
National Brake Check is coming up Sept. 7 - Sept. 13 .......Some of the State Troopers are already posting on the internet about their high level of participation in this.

I would love a trip to NYC. It is a good deed you did flash. I hope it goes well for you.
I try to wash out trailer everytime I get unloaded but sometimes the area is no good for that. As honeybadger said no blood you could just sweep it and most likely get away with that. Be careful on food loads cause they usually want it very clean.
In Dwight, Il. 2 deliveries tomorrow. I hope the Restaurant Depot in Alsip is better than Stl.(were very slow) and then to Chicago. No pre-plan yet. Hope no Logansport they never load my trailer right. Be nice to run from Aurora to cheyenne.
jungho those states up in that area snow a lot. I remember in 08 Elk Mountain was closed on 6-28 due to blizzard like conditions. It is crazy crazy weather up there but also so beautiful.
Be safe out thereHometimeQueen, Panhandle flash, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If it's just a little blood I will get a gallon of water and slowly pour enough over each spot to soak it. I let it sit for a minute or two then sweep iy. The bristles scrub the blood right up with no effort! Then I use the rest of the gallon to flush the dirty water toward one end of the trailer and down the drain holes. I do this after I've swept it. A dab of water and baby wipes work too. Sometimes, usually after hometime I just throw the broken pallet chunks out because of the kinds of places I pick up after hometime aren't picky. I am all about the easy way out and avoiding getting stuck in line at a truck wash for an hour!
HTQ, thanks for the mention on those two sites!
I shut down in Lebanon, TN with 130 miles to go. Glad I shut down because an hour after I got here a massive storm exploded.gntorres61 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
i must live a blessed life up here above I80 weather wise
The move like most moves is not going like expected
got the uhaul unloaded from Chicago
waiting on the movers to show tommorow
found out the washer and dryer didnt come with the place
so bought a pair at the used appliance store
sofa we wanted at costco was gone
went to DMV didnt have all the paperwork
can i just go drive my truck -
Fianlly have stopped long enough, I can actually look at things. This trip looks like a cake walk. 1st drop is in the meat market, where I'm presently at and the 2nd looks like its out towards or maybe even on Long Island. Don't mind those places at all.
HYQ has been laughing at me, saying I ought to have Cranky or Jaso with me. They have no problem going where angels fear to tread!! hahahahahahaha
Taking this load did screw up my HT. Found out the brother and his family weren't going to be there for the next 2 weekends so, put off HT for 2 weeks. Hope I can survive.
Would much rather be going home with the driver who's load I took. He's from South Africa and think that would be a cool place to visit.HometimeQueen and jaso36 Thank this. -
No truck for you, Pete. The moving experience just wouldn't be the same without you there to share in the excitement with Patty!
You know that misery loves company! It will only be a couple more days then you will be back on the road and next time that you get back to the yard you will truly be coming home ....for the first time in quite awhile. I'm happy for you both .....enjoy!
Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
Your welcome! I'm all about trying to save money .....and food!
The grubhub website isn't everywhere yet ....but I typed in a few addresses just for fun and was impressed with the setup. Full menus and prices ....I just thought it was a nice service and would work especially well for those times you all get caught at a shipper or receiver.
The Saving Catcher app with WalMart is kind of found money. You can let it accrue and use it as an emergency fund .....or for Christmas, birthdays, etc.. Just a nice little bonus.
I might have to use mine on the groceries ....who knew that two tiny teenage girls would get up in the middle of the night and clean out the pantry?? The girls baked a fantastic chocolate cake yesterday evening....this afternoon I thought I would take a break and have a cup of coffee and a slice of chocolate cake. I guess I can't complain ....they saved me A PIECE!
