This exactly. Whenever I call, especially if I'm trying to get something changed to accommodate ME, I'm always please and thank you, sir and ma'am. I've called quite a few and talked some into letting me camp out and such. Never had TransAm get on to me. I've even gotten Coke to agree to load me early and a good dose of sugar ((and cleavage)) got me unloaded 24 hours early at a WALMART once.

Only once in a blue moon do I go all Hurricane Honeybadger, but I always start out sweet and pleasant.

No one knew of my supposed swap in West Memphis since my A dm is off. It was actually a preplanned t call so it wasn't finalized. I was told to go ahead to OK, and I told (texted) Neal that I had hometime Saturday, but would do the load if need be. I was refueling and taking my 30 at the Pilot in West Memphis, when I got a swap text to go to the Loves in Memphis on US 78 so I get ther at 115pm and wait. My swap shows at a quarter of 3 and we swap. I was ready to pull out at 330 but my trailer breaks were locked up. I asked him if he had trouble with this trailer.and he said no. My swap trailer had collapsed air bags and would not budge. Sent four 012 spent two hours per road assist to build up the air in the tanks. They deduced brake chamber gone bad. Loves techie had gone for the day so road assist called another company and am waiting on them as I write this. Was hoping to get out of here this evening, but my 14 hr is used up. Will have to wait until after midnight as my delivery is in Norcross GA. Another subplot, the swap driver left the reefer at 1/4 tank and I can't move it. Hope they get here soon. Deuces.

I knew they did but had never seen one do it before. They actually play the part of being dead quite realistically! Tongue hanging out, body stiff, etc. ....it was startling when he decided to make his move and jump up!

I haven't seen the bobcat in quite awhile. He probably moved about a mile down the road towards the river. Up until this last week we have had no rain since the first of July.

Our opinion of the van versus reefer debate would be a little different from you all......so I am guessing that it would depend on the company. We have had less slow times with dry van. The hours are different, very little middle of the night stuff and not much waiting at shippers and receivers....and have never waited for a preplan.....always had somewhere else to go and pick up at. To us the difference is in the type and sizes of the businesses that he delivers and picks up at. They are usually much smaller local or regional businesses. Sometimes that is good, the King has seen and been to some interesting places, sometimes it is bad .....smaller areas that were never meant for big trucks. He has hauled everything from books, metal for recycling, golf carts, candy, cheese and apple butter. This company also hauls the styrofoam trays to package the meat that TransAm hauls ....so when it is good for the meathaulers it is good for them. They also have about a dozen reefer trailers and about once every month or two the King gets one of those trailers. They have a contract with a gourmet cheese plant and one with a gourmet chocolate factory.

If your reefer is on cycle sentry you should be fine til you are ready to roll out. Earlier this year I was snowed in at the Pilot in Effingham and learned it takes about 46 hours for a reefer on cycle to run completely out of fuel and shut off. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. And even if it runs out of fuel, just turn your satellite off and if TransAm reeeeeally wants you to fuel it they will call you. I let a rejected produce load run out of fuel once because I was mad about having to babysit it for two days while TransAm figured out what to do about ut so I used it as leverage to get what I wanted. Told them to figure it out real fast and maybe I would fuel it. Another time I picked up a meat load with low reefer fuel in Holcomb. Like scary low. But thought I could make it to Salina. I was wrong. The reefer ran out of fuel and was shut down for about an hour in the 105 degree Kansas summer. Temp climbed from 26 ((or something like that)) to 47. Road assist only cared enough that I eventually got fuel in it and it restarted without problem. I was freaking out because it was a Tyson load that was wayyyy out of temp, but nobody else cared. The customer took the product ((obviously no tattle boxes were planted in that load!)) and nobody ever said another word about it.

I am deeming this hometime to be the start of pumpkinfest. I've already been snagging pumpkin spice donuts for breakfast the last few days and will do it tomorrow too! I've got pumpkin spice moonshine waiting for me at home. Also going to make deep fried apple pie moonshine. And chocolate chip bacon pumpkin bread. I also intend to hunt down a few bags of pumpkin spice Hershey kisses. Yeah, I'm a pumpkin fanatic.
