HTQ, you must be quite proud of your daughters and their interest in baking. That's awesome! If it weren't for so many FDA rules & regulations involved in cooking & selling baked (& other) foods, they could have a little business going there. Taking orders? How were the oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookies? Sounds yummy!!!!
I have to brag on George here a little. He called me a few weeks ago, while out on the road, and says, "We have a situation." I automatically went into semi-panic mode, trying to think what in the world may be amiss. Well, we both have birthdays in September, his the 2nd & mine the 12th. The situation: to be home for both bdays, he could only be home for 1 night each time! Isn't that just the sweetest thing, that he was concerned over our birthdays?!
Solution: come home regular 2 week hometime, which is in between the 2 dates! Yay! Gotta love hometime & his being so considerate!!! Sorry if I grossed anyone out with mushy stuff.
Sometimes human interest stories are just neat! Have a great day & be safe y'all, ya hear?!!!![]()

George made it to Salisbury, NC for delivery. fL is refusing the load due to meat being frozen, however, reefer was set on designated temperature. George had to contact risk management with TA to find out what to do. I'm waiting to hear...dun, dun, dun, duh... It's like Readers Digest column, All in a Day's Work!

Don't understand about meat being frozen , is that bad if frozen and why ?

The saga continues: George is at a Love's truck stop in Salisbury, like 5 miles from the FL, still waiting to get directions as to the load of beef. TA is attempting to find another receiver to accept the load. It turns out that it's the shipper's fault and the meat is too frozen, despite temp being set according to bill of laden specification. George was at FL an hour and 20 minutes early for 7 am drop. That's some wait time. He is in good spirits, though, considering.

Usually grocery stores sell meats fresh and unfrozen. George said he didn't realize meat could be too frozen. I didn't either. I imagine it has something to do with USDA regulations. It is an interesting situation, don't you think?dennisroc Thanks this.

So, as it stands right now, they are unable to find any companies to accept the load, especially being the weekend. George has to stay with the load for the weekend, unless they find someone to accept it before weekend's over. Home time was approved, but he can't come home. I am quite sad over that! There's no telling when he'll be home now.

Know what scares the crap out of a driver the most? (Well, this driver anyway) To be following the shippers directions, in the middle lane of am3 lane road, and come up on a bridge that says 13'5"!!! Whew!!!! Realized that it was ONLY for the left lane, and that the bridge had been notched. Mighty scared of topping truck and trailer, form moment tho.

Pete ,maybe Patty just wants to know how long you will be home so that she can make your time at home special......or calculate how much of the "Honey Do" list you can get done!

George, I will try to let you know about the I 70 shut down and the time frame on it. Hope they get everything straightened out with this load of beef!
jungHo, my youngest daughter's birthday is September 12th. She is so excited! She is one of those kids that finds so much joy in everything. I am so thankful that she is such a happy soul! The cookies were melt in your mouth delicious .....they are already planning their next baking challenge.
Panhandle, I thought you would get a little bit of rest this weekend anyway, NOT....I am glad that you have hometime rescheduled, you definitely have earned a break!jaso36, dennisroc, Panhandle flash and 1 other person Thank this. -
Fresh and frozen loads are prepared and packaged differently out of the plant and are to be kept at a different temperature. Processed stuff is usually frozen, traditional cuts, fresh. But be the exact same types of meat (ground beef for example), ordered as fresh or frozen, just depends on how the customer plans to use or sell it. It is likely the load was properly prepared at the plant as frozen, the customer wanted fresh.
Now the driver, who 100% did what was ask of him, will have his time treated as worth zero as something is worked out. Over the weekend, I hope he will not have to wait until Monday.dennisroc, Panhandle flash, jungHo and 1 other person Thank this.
