I have 7 pallets on my truck and they come to 39850. Transformers. Tried to unload today but no one home since the broker told them I wouldn't be there till tomorrow. This place has no docks or even a ramp. After the seal is popped, I plan to grab my mug of coffee, cut the tip off of a ceegar and light it, then walk around back and watch them try to unload this thing. Hope their motorized pallet jack is rated for 7500 lbs, cause that's what 2 of the pallets way. Ought to be interesting!!!!
wulfman75 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
will transam hire someone whos has no recent otr exp? also whats the training time and pay? also are they giving company drivers those shiny new 680's or thats just fleece?
-
Well, that's a good way to get started...not.

I honestly have no idea I showered early this morning as it helps me wake up. It was here or the rest area at mm25 I will not stay in STL until this ferguson stuff is done. I have seen what happened to that truck driver during the LA riots. I was in the Gulf then on the USS LaSalle but it made an impression on me so I do not stay near civil unrest

I will be tomorrow. Right now I'm finishing my 10 here in Brooklyn at our customers place. Yet another all nighter tonight to get down to Petersburg Va to drop at 5am, this makes it the fourth night in a row for this. I'm getting to old for this ####.gntorres61, jaso36, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this.

They will hire. I do not know about the training for former(just a guess)experienced drivers but I imagine a week out. Company drivers are getting the T-700 mostly right now. Have heard on here of a few company drivers getting T-680 but I wouldn't count on itHometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this.

jaso, it's not so much the people that you have to watch out for ....it's the police handing out citations. Lots of construction and detours in St. Louis. The signs that say Truck Detour will be just for trucks delivering in that municipality. You can follow the truck detour signs and have your receiver within sight and get an overweight citation because you are not a local delivery ....the street just before your destination is the city line and your receiver is in the next municipality. I hope that makes sense but I don't quite know how to explain it. Just be extra vigilant if you get caught in a detour to your destination .....they know and the cops sit and wait to hand out tickets.
