DM just called saying she had a load she was pretty sure pulled out of a place I like. She was right, it's Sterilite in Birmingham to Lowe's in Mt Vernon TX. Buuuut brainfart... I'm still bobtail! Lol. So another voided load.

I have apparently managed to draw attention as well because people have been coming to her talking about me. It's all good things and she said it's great I'm standing out like that, but attention is a double edged sword so I guess I need to behave for a while. Darn.

It didn't copy as well as it should have, on mine I have the names of the places underlined, and it keeps running the phone numbers together with the zip codes. I have tried to correct it on here but it won't allow me to....sorry. The last ten numbers after the address will be the phone numbers for the businesses.


Also, this list isn't just because of the food. Things happen and sometimes you will be running out of time and need a place to park, after a certain time the chain truck stops will be full .....many times you will be able to find a spot at the smaller independent truck stops.

 

Not a good beginning at my sister's house. Was loading beer in the fridge and the bottom fell out of a 6 pack. Oh boo ho!!!!! Bad thing is, I don't drink cheap beer. *wailing and gnashing of teeth*

 

Was given a swap last night before I went to bed. So left at 6am to meet swap driver 45 minutes away at a TA off I 70. He tells me theres A third stop which had to be delivered first at Walmart DC in Washington Courthouse Ohio at 0315, swap driver ran out of his 70 so he couldn't make the delivery, so I take it over there and gate guard says you are six hours late. Guys in receiving are gone for the day. You gotta reschedule. Babysitting a load for the second weekend in a row. Now it delivers tomorrow at 0315 and my other two stops are pushed back to Tue Wed. One in Olney IL, the other Harrisonville MO. My darn APU wont stay on so its stuffy in here during the day. Last night it worked fine for heat. Go figure. May have to go inside the truck stop til the sun goes down. Just another day in trucking. Deuces.

 

And they are VERY receptive to you as a customer. They want to get it right. I'm not easily impressed, but they impress me.

No overnight parking
one small older truck stop a few miles down the road but you have to get really lucky to find a place
The next small town is Noble, IL, Hwy. 250 does a bypass thru town, by the railroad tracks is a small lot that locals use, you can park there.

Across the railroad tracks there is a small grocery store and there is a very good small diner just down the street.
