Ugh. As I put my load locks in in Auburndale, I noticed the last pallet on the left was very poorly constructed and crooked. Just had an overall bad feeling about it. Gut was right. That pice of crap busted open in transit and I have cases of lemonade scattered across the tail. At least one case has a damaged bottle and it only take one to cause paperwork and a headache. This is the second Coke load in a row that has caused me trouble. And I'm preplanned out of Dallas to Mile Hi again. I intend to refuse it.

Brakes. Most brakes today are of the self adjusting variety, and if they have to be manually adjusted.... much, something is wrong with them.

2 tricks I learned that should work. 1) If you can block your tires so that you don't roll, pump your brakes till you have 0 lbs, build up air pressure and then see if you can slide your tandems.
    2) Seems that (if I remember correctly), for today's brakes and adjusting them, put truck into reverse, start backing and use brakes. Do that 5 or 6 times. One of those two, always worked for me.

Waited all day .....no plumber. He finally returned my call this evening and said ...Maybe tomorrow!:angryfire: I have been fantasizing all evening about hunting that ridiculous man down like the dog that he is, dragging him back here and locking him up downstairs ...with a bobcat ....until he fixes the drain line! I don't believe I would get arrested and if I did I think a jury would let me off.....nobody likes plumbers. I could probably get away with smacking him a few times....he obviously needs an attitude adjustment and a reboot. :biggrin_2551: For now, I am pretending to be polite and understanding .....it is part of my devious and evil plan to get even with that arrogant little horse's behind.....after he fixes the problem!

I think you said you had a clogged drain , not sure though. But my sister had that problem and I stuck a garden hose from the outside hook up in the drain , covered it with rags and tried to seal it up and had someone turn the hose on full power and it cleaned the drain right away.
    Might be worth a try.

This does work, I have done method 1 before and got wheels to lock so I can move tandems. I also now carry two 4x4 scrap pieces, in my side box, to chock the wheels with so I can hold tandems wheels in place and slide them on the rails.

The Flash also gave some good advice in the old thread. Push and pull the red button in and out to help build up air so that stuck tandem pins will move. I still use that one today. Thanks again Flash.

Maybe folks already know but if tandems are stuck, even if they are all the way to the back, try to move forward even a little bit more and then put it in reverse. Sometimes that can shake something loose.

I have been in a shoot out with TransAm since Monday :smt071:smt072

I showed up for my last stop of a 3 stop load at 11am in downtown Boston for an 11:30 unload appointment. I had been working split breaks, had to miss sleep and fight the tail end of Boston rush hour traffic to make it to the appointment on time only to be told I did not have an appointment. Receiver said TransAm had never made an appointment, that they had discussed it with TransAm customer service earlier in the morning and I could wait around until the end of today (Monday) to see if something opened up or more likely unload tomorrow (Tuesday). Fireworks ensued.

Long story short, I got a back layover pay issue resolved (the last one I posted and complained about here) and got layover pay to hang around, parked in the dirty street until the receiver could get around to unloading me on Tuesday. It took some doing, some extortion and gnashing of teeth but I did at least get the pay I was entitled to.

If this post reads like some kind of brag the I got TransAm to pay me for what they normally expect drivers to wait around and get nothing for ... it is not. My method sucks, I felt nothing but stress and aggravation for the lousy $50 layover pays. The thing is, I do enjoy driving but this job is neither fun or glamorous. If I can not get some basic support from TransAm when I bust ### to get exactly at the place I am suppose to be at exactly the time I am suppose to be I would rather do something else.

A supervisor named Chris in Olathe called me last night and was very helpful. Penny in Rockwall who I was not getting along with on Monday called this morning and we made nice and worked it all out.

I get what you're saying, passport. There does seem to be a bit of miscommunication, sometimes no communication, and poor planning going on from time to time. Guess it's to some extent part of trucking, but it does make one wonder, doesn't it? Hope things get better for you.

Hometime, are there no other plumbers you could call? Good luck, hope things get fixed soon. Sorry he's being such a jerk!

That stinks Passport at least you are getting paid. Not how much you deserve but something is better than nothing.

In Miami at final no pre plan. Will head up to Auburndale and hope I don't screw myself with that move.

    Be safe out there
