I can't imagine the truck stop not noticing the smell, etc. from that trailer sitting there.I read a few more articles about it and there is definitely more to the story ....and I don't think they even know the half of it yet!
Yes, the girls and I are without a kitchen and a laundry room....it is a pain! We really miss not being able to bake. We had some great pumpkin recipes lined up to try this week.
Thankfully, the kitchens and laundry room are on the opposite side of the house so we haven't had any problems with the showers.
Many years ago I had a sweet older friend tell me that all men were programmed with a ....umm ....we'll call it a manure chip. She said no matter how nice they were, every once in awhile that manure chip was gonna kick in.....they just couldn't help it!So I figure sometimes Pete and Panhandle just can't help it .....that manure chip kicks in ...:smt102. The King figured out many years ago that I can hold my own and ....reprogram, reset and reboot as needed! ....and while he doesn't have a username or post, it doesn't mean that he doesn't occasionally get on here and read. He's confident in who he is and who we are. I figure Patty does a pretty good job of resetting and rebooting the Cranky One! But now Panhandle.....

We looked for the pumpkin spice Oreos this evening and couldn't find them....it was just at the local market, am hoping they have them in Springfield! We already bought the pumpkin spice coffee creamer.....so good!
You must have really good instincts, honeybadger. I stopped to talk with friends this evening, they own the local convenience store. He said he had just checked and the price of fuel would be going up in the next day or so.
I'm with you on that trailer ....I don't think they can ever get the smell out of that thing. Can you imagine having to deal with that? I wouldn't even want to be the driver that had to pull that thing to where ever they take it ......you'd have buzzards following you down the highway! -
When the fuel comes outta my pocket I HAVE to stay on top of it, lol. St Joseph, MO and Kingdom City bother generally have cheap diesel as well as Russell and Hattiesburg, MS. When I see it significantly cheaper than national average I generally fill the tanks all the way unless I'm moving into an area where I know it will be even cheaper. As much as I hate math, the contractor game is all numbers, numbers, numbers.
Also, interesting side note. AB is closing this Waco DC very very soon. They are moving to Pasadena TX supposedly to save money. I know we bring a lot of product in here. This is my first time pulling out of here though. The security guard said they have a lot of our trucks coming in lately getting the beer out of here in preparation for the facility closing.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
There was a driver in Nc who abadonned his truck and trailer in the middle of no where in the beginning of summer. It had a potatoes load by the time the company found it it was October, needless to say the potatoes were bad. The truck wash guys told the whole story cause they had to clean out the trailer and charged well over $600 for doing it. They said it was the grossest clean out they ever did, that is pretty interesting since they are near a dogfood factory that uses fish guts and parts for their food and they wash out those trailers also for a big price.
In Leesburg waiting to get a door then on my way to Longmont. I might take 20 to Dallas and 287 up less hills and if I go through Dallas in the early hours I will avoid all traffic. They have me going up 70-64-24-70 not bad but much more traffic and hills. Will see what load weighs and decide then.
Be safe out thereHometimeQueen Thanks this. -
^^^ I looked at it on a couple different programs that I have, jaso. It looks like it will add about 133 miles to go through Dallas, but you are right....it sure would eliminate pulling those hills. Would your fuel consumption be about the same by avoiding tugging the hills?

I got loaded this morning and made it almost all the way to Lubbock. I'm only 44 miles from final. But as I'm going through Post, TX I hit a red light. No big deal. Light turns green, I start moving and BOOM. That is never a good sound. I slowly limped 2 blocks up the road and pulled into a vacant lot and get out with the tire thumper, praying I didn't just hear one of my drives blow. All tires are intact fortunately. That giant boom? I was my right front trailer airbag blowing up. T_____T I need a drink.

Well my day just got better in a matter of minutes. I had stopped at Walmart in Sweetwater in pursuit of pumpkin spice oreos but had no luck. I'm currently broke down in Post, TX and across the street from where I'm sitting is a little grocery store. I decided it would be cheaper to grab a pack of Coke here than a truck stop and I was bored anyway. I found a coupon for $1 off when you buy an 8 pack of Coke and a Nabisco product so I figured I would get some kind of cookie too. They had pumpkin spice oreos! They actually had a lot of different flavors including limeade which I got since I loved the lemon oreos. My 14 is nearly up. Im waiting on a service tech to come out and rig the trailer so I can limp it to the Rip Griffin in Lubbock. Going to have to safe haven, ugh. But I don't have a choice in the matter. Was supposed to deliver at 1400 today but that's out too.

There's nothing like comfort food to make your day better!
.honeybadger. Thanks this. -
^ ^ Woo hoo, HB! Sounds like you at least hit the jackpot if Oreo cookie variety! Yay! Hope your truck gets fixed soon. Meanwhile, enjoy your Coke and cookies!
George isn't in too good of a mood just now. He's got Friday afternoon rush traffic to contend wuth in his trek to Monroe, GA to Walmart DC. Hoping he makes it on time and they are quicker than normal and efficient!
HTQ, so sorry your plumbing has limited you so. I can see it now, once your plumbing is fixed, you and the girls will have a cooking marathon, making all sorts if pumpkin and other goodie dishes!!! Hope you're reserving your energy! Love your men/manure fits story. Guess you could say it's kind of on the order of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?!! Mwah ha ha ha!!HometimeQueen and .honeybadger. Thank this. -
My plumbing works fine, but I had a cooking spree a little while ago fixing meals for George to take after home time. I made mac-n-cheese with kielbasa, rice-a-roni with pork, and chicken with noodles and mixed vegetables. So far I've got about 13 containers fixed, have 4 to go. Ham, pasta salad, and something with steak or beef strips. I bought his Gatorade and snack foods too. Check! Now, I just need him to come on home, but he will be a day later than approved home time due to his current 2 stop load. At least he will still have 2 days home!,
HometimeQueen, .honeybadger., jaso37 and 1 other person Thank this.
