Just a tidbit for the blog... Ja-Ru/Bonded Logistics in Charlotte, NC allows overnight parking and can usually work you in early on the day of your appointment. Very friendly people and easy to get to the facility.

[h=1]Operation Safe Driver Week[/h][h=2]Operation Safe Driver Week is October 19–25, 2014[/h]During the week of October 19–25, 2014, law enforcement agencies across North America will engage in heightened traffic safety enforcement and education aimed at unsafe driving behaviors by both commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers and car drivers during Operation Safe Driver Week.
Each year, nearly 4,000 people are killed and 100,000 others are injured in large truck and bus crashes on our roadways. Many of those accidents are the direct result of the drivers—both truck and bus drivers, as well as the car drivers operating unsafely around them. CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver program was created to help to combat the number of deaths resulting from crashes involving large trucks, buses and cars.
During Operation Safe Driver Week, activities will be held across the United States, Canada and Mexico with the goal of increasing commercial vehicle and non-commercial vehicle traffic enforcement; safety belt enforcement; driver roadside inspections; and driver regulatory compliance.
In addition to enforcement, education is an important component of Operation Safe Driver Week. Law enforcement and transportation safety officials will offer educational and awareness safety programs to the motor carrier population and the motoring public.
Operation Safe Driver Week is sponsored by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), in partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and with support from industry and a number of other transportation safety organizations.

My truck is in the shop, I am in a hotel. My 1,550 mile load is in the KW yard. I am still hoping that TransAm can keep advancing the delivery appointment time so that I can run those miles when my truck is ready... tomorrow...hope, hope hope. Good miles and it also takes me by the clubhouse and my mailbox.

Passport , Good luck with your truck and trip. I seen you posted about Re-gen on your truck.

Seems like reading through TTR for a year now that a lot of drivers have trouble with this. Can you explain to me what a Re-gen is and how it is done ?

^In a word, no. I don't really fully understand it, but in my limited understanding and a lot of guess work I think it is this: The trucks have an emissions chamber that filters out some soot and particles instead of discharging it through the exhaust stack. A good thing since we all love mother earth. This filter is cleaned by the truck running super hot gas on a regular or semi-regular basis through this chamber. It burns a lot of this stuff away. If during regular operations not enough hot gas is run through this chamber the yucky stuff builds up and as a driver, you can run a manual regen process. A process to generate hot emissions gas and run it through this chamber and clean it out.

In my experience, if your truck gets a to a point that you need to run this manual process, you are already in great danger of a breakdown, downtime to have this emissions system serviced.

It works a little bit different in the 680 & T-700 compared to the 660 but I have had problems or downtime due to this regen system in all three models, including a breakdown that had to have me towed.
