Hey everyone. Currently enrolled in school. Received a pre hire letter from Trans Am. Can you all tell me what all it is to know about TransAm? Pay, average miles, do you get paid for total miles, practical, zip code to zip code, automatic or 10 speeds, how often do they get you home, is it an issue getting you home? Any and all info would be useful. Thanks

I talked to someone yesterday. Your right but you do not overpay just pay for that week over 11 weeks. I think I am going to do it but will still go home like I am now but I do not go home for very long maybe 1 and 1/2 days right now. I do not ever get to deliver near my home unless I am going home.

I checked in and they are going to try and work me in tonight but they have a few trucks in front of me. I don't mind Waffle House is cheap

Welcome to the thread. You should read through the thread all your questions are answered and more. Practical miles are what is paid, automatics, hometime is one day off for one week out for company, 30 cents a mile, most of the time no problem getting home but this is trucking so sometimes there are unusual circumstances. DO NOT LEASE is the advice we tell every new driver. No matter how good it looks when they present it to you DO NOT LEASE. over 90% fail. Good Luck

Welcome truckertravis. We will do all that we can to help you and answer questions for you. As jaso said, if you will go back and skim through this thread many of your questions will be answered .....and some that you haven't even thought about yet. We also had another thread that was closed because we had reached the maximum posts on it. You will find it here http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...g-inc-olathe-ks.html?highlight=transam+olathe. My suggestion is to go back and read about a years worth of posts ....you too jdmredneck, in case we forgot to tell you ....it will give you a really good idea of how TransAm works. Write down any questions that you still have and we will do our best to help you with them. You can also do a search on this thread and the other one. At the top right hand corner of this thread you will see a box that says "Search Thread", just type in what you are looking for. For instance if you wanted to know about orientation in Olathe just type in Orientation Olathe. We also have a blog with some good information on it. The web address for it is at the bottom of my posts. Good luck and we are glad to have you here.

In Whiteland IN at the Flying J exit 95 off I-65 south of Indy. Dennis guess you are not home. Picked up to 44k of pork products. Scaled perfectly at 33k on the drives 33,700 on the trailer. Drove 520 miles. Tomorrow will be able to finish the trip and sleep at BiLo. Feels good to be running again. Deuces.

Thanks, jaso. You had me laughing about throwing your clothes around the bedroom. George does too, when he leaves, it's like a miniature cyclone blew through the room! :biggrin_2559: I am always happy to see him, though, and will gladly put up with that and pick up after him. Sorry to hear you're having personal problems. I will keep you in my prayers. Hope things improve soon. That isn't helpful to you with driving and the stress that accompanies it, although, such issues are never pleasant. You hang in there.

Here is question for the company drivers that has not been asked in a while with a follow up.

The per diem mentioned in the previous thread. Does trans am pay that or is it taken off at tax time?

Actually better question is are they still doing that.
