Lucky Dawg! You're right, I also noticed planes from Korea to the Philippines fill up fast. There seems to be a growing connection between Korea and the Phils, starting to replace some of the historic Japanese influence.
Who are you flying with, direct flight or going to grab a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila to the Province? Save some San Miguel for me!!!

All the best to your baby girl!!!
Shut down pay ... lol ... that was a good one! I have written in the past as a new driver, I never felt like I had any substantial winter driving training. A lot of training videos I have seen say if you have sliding, spinning wheels to depress the clutch, get all the wheels traveling at the same speed ... what clutch? I started in Jan 2013, drove through last winter so this will be my third year (I don't plan on sticking around the whole winter).
Slow and steady is all we can do. Need to go fast enough not to create a hazard by going too slow but just faster than that. Get in the right lane and keep that pace. If you can't do that, need to get off the road, shut down and send in a mesg to let dispatch know what is going on. Let the screwballs kill themselves with speed in the left lane. Anytime now, loads will start to have more time until delivery built in to account for the winter weather. Dang, it has come early this year.Panhandle flash, jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Left Jackson MS at 10pm last night and drove to the TA in Terrell Texas and took a nap. Back up at 0600 and arrived in Ardmore OK at 915am (1100am appt). Dropped and hooked an empty and drove 10 short miles to the Flying J and shut er down. Thought they would have me PC back to Rockwall, but headed to Amarillo in the morning for an IBC going to IBC in Emporia KS for a midnight delivery Sun night Monday early, early morning. Then on to Olathe for my PMs and DOT inspection. Been a great four days. 2285 on the odometer 2172 on the paycheck for four days. My best miles per day week in the 5 plus months I have been here. Apparently they have changed medical health carriers at TA. Gonna check it out on Monday when I get to Olathe. Hopefully its better than the $29 week plan which covers nothing. If it is any kind of improvement, I would consider staying at TA past the one year mark into the future. I know it will be more but if the coverage is better than I can live with the other previous stated objections (pricey pet/no pet policy-company vs lease driver hauls). I am a weird bird, but if I am happy somewhere, I am gonna stay. TransAm, for their part has been really good to me and I have made friends in Olathe office. That means something to me. I still stay in touch with my workmates from Waste Management through Facebook and live visits. Worked with those folks 11 years. Those relationships mean something to me and I have been gone going on 2 years. Call me a sentimental sap. I am what I am. Deuces.

Check out Mister Dispatcher putting in some driver miles! Glad things are going better for you now George.
When you put your truck in for PM, ask for a bunk room key. Need to bring your own bedding inside also any drinks and snacks from your fridge as they don't won't you going into the truck once it is in the shop. Good luck.gntorres61 Thanks this. -
Driving through rural Utah and WY the last two days, no phone service/internet most of the time. But you're also right about the hanging on part. Should be in North Plate tonight.
Saw traces of snow on the side of the road in WY today. Seeing that and the massive networks of snow fences are surly ominous about the things to come ... it's too early!!!HometimeQueen and jungHo Thank this. -
We are flying Jeju Air , it's a newer Korean airline. Direct flight from Incheon , Korea to Cebu , Philippines. Each person round trip $ 498 , not to bad of a price for the holiday season.
We will stay the night in Cebu and catch the high speed ferry boat ( Super Cat ) to the city of Ormoc on the island of Leyte. Get picked up there and an hour trip down the coast to Baybay , Philippines. I remember you said you have been to Baybay and if you took the trip down the coast to Baybay like we do then I am sure you can remember the great views down the coast... the sea , mountains and the millions of palm trees. I love this trip.
Buying a new Go Pro camera today , maybe share some pics and video when we return.
Can't make any promises about saving that San Miguel for you but I will try.

Yeppers, CY. It is outpatient. I had mine out the summer after 2nd grade and stayed in the hospital 2 or 3 days. Eating ice cream was extremely rare when I was a child. There were 7 of us in my family and Mom was a stay at home mom. As an appeasement to agreeing to having my tonsils out, I was told I'd get to eat ice cream and also jello. I was quite excited about that until after the surgery! My throat was so stinking sore that I didn't want anything!!!!gntorres61 and dennisroc Thank this.

Nice to sleep in. Good to get back on a day schedule, but I admit, the night moves served me very well this week. Remember, clocks back an hour tonight. What? An extra hour of sleep?? Unheard of. Off to shower, breakfast, then Amarillo IBC. THE GREAT HOLDING CELL.

Tonsils? Back in olden time I drove for two days on nothing but Mt. Dew and Tastykake Chocolate Jr cakes because my tonsils were infected. The infection migrated to my wisdom teeth which then had to be cut out. After two weeks in bed took a day run and passed out half way back. Just got off the road before the lights went off!
jungHo, Panhandle flash and HometimeQueen Thank this.
