I live in the Pinehurst area of Nc. This time around I have been getting home on time. As for average length of haul that depends on the area they run you. If you keep going to Cheyenne, Wy and back east it will be well over 1,200 miles but if you get stuck in the Il, Oh, In area it might be around 800 miles. Overall about 1,000 miles. I will warn both new drivers about expectations, expect about 2,500 miles a week in the beginning and it will rise once you show you can handle trip planning and handling customers, truck and this lifestyle. I know in theory we should be about 500 miles a day but when has theory really worked out in real life? There are many factors that affect your miles. You will have good and bad weeks, sometimes your fault, sometimes shippers and receivers fault, sometimes companies fault and sometimes life just has it out for us. Your attitude will go a long way. Recruiters are paid to get you into a company so keep that in mind when they talk about expectations of what ever company. Good luck to you both and welcome to the thread.

In Jackson, Ms. waiting for a door. Was hoping that they would unload me early but that doesn't look to promising right now. Next load(unless they change it) Masonite in Laurel, Ms to North Platte, Ms. Masonite. I hope one day I might get a light load but getting miles is more important so I will keep quiet and keep rolling.

    Be safe out there

I thought you could be the Grand Prize in the talent competition, dennisroc. Take the winner up and fly him around awhile......tow a banner announcing their accomplishment.:biggrin_25520:

I love it when a plan comes together!
