I stayed out last year and if they offer bonus again I will stay out again.
One reason some may not have heard about Christmas and home time is your father is use to this and has always given enough time so he could go home. Most of the companies I have worked for have a cut off date for you to request home time for holidays

Jay, when it comes to holidays your best bet is to choose Thanksgiving OR Christmas and put in for it very early.
Last year the lease bonus was something like work 12/21-1/4 and the $1000 bonus paid out on the settlement that came out the 11th. I am staying out again for the bonus this year. I was lucky enough last year to be able to go out of route and spend most of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family and because I was under a load still got my bonus. One of the many reasons I love my DM. I don't have that kind of expectation this year but I'm still staying out for the bonus. I'm going home for Thanksgiving and then my next hometime will be when the bonus pays out. It's getting harder for me to stay out like I do though. My four year old has been more and more vocal about missing me. He calls me almost any day and I told Brian that anytime Booga asks to call me, let him. Devlin is still to young to really be vocal about it. This is part of the reason I'm pushing to get ready to take this truck to Landstar. I can make more money without working nearly as hard. Covering payments will be a breeze and I will be able to afford to see the kids more often. I'm in a great spot for some Landstar freight to. One of my friends has been with them for a year now so I've been able to explore in depth all the numbers.
I'm waiting for my overhead PM to be done at KW. Once I'm done here I am heading down to Maxton to pick up a load going to Duncan, OK.jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this.
