Congrats jay! Having a great attitude will be a big help. Just don't let them pull any wool over your eyes or take advantage of you. George has a good attitude too, but sometimes I fear he lets things slide too much. Guess there are several ways of looking at various issues. His take is that he's still kind of new, so he doesn't want to rock the boat. He is taking notes for future use though of negatives (swaps gone bad, long hours waiting around, poor dispatch, etc. )
I know your glad to get things moving. Hometime's on mark, when she said feel free to vent. I'm not a trucker but have sure vented about issues George has faced. I was afraid that I was being too negative, but Hometime reassured me venting is expected. You've probably already noticed that folks on this thread are very helpful and very supportive. They're a great bunch, great bunch indeed!!gntorres61, HometimeQueen, passport220 and 1 other person Thank this. -

But you're right! Keep up the good work.... oh, it took me a second to figure out what the King's real first name was.

In Olathe for the night. Got real lucky cause Grand Island had the load ready when I got there. It wasn't suppose to be ready till 0330 tomorrow. I went into the yard cause the permit lady told me last month that this month we were going to have to get the new IFTA sticker and some new permits. Went to window and she said Dec is when that all happens. GRRR I wouldn't have stopped here but I made good use of my time here. Got new red airline and some anti-gelling additive. antifreeze and a case of 5th wheel grease.
I asked the service guy about the idling situation when it gets cold. He informed me that we are suppose to be set up to idle in less than 20 degrees automatically. My truck has the updates but you guys should make sure that yours does too. He said that when out thermometer was reading below 20 it triggers a sensor and we should be able to idle. I will not idle at 20 but when it gets below 5 I will. Idling gets expensive when you pay for fuel.
Congrats Jay
Be safe out therepassport220, gntorres61, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this. -
I bet all the chatting stops now that I am on. You guys just PM each other when I am on. I see how it is
