I hope you find your sunglasses, jaso.
Bad weather and warnings are out for just about everywhere in the midwest and central parts of the country. The King had a Kraft load today that got him home until Monday morning at 6 am. He called Kraft and they said bring it in now if you want and we'll unload it for you. It's the second time Kraft in Springfield has done that at one of their facilities. You couldn't ask for a more courteous, efficient and driver friendly bunch of folks. The trick is to call ahead.....the guards are contract people and a bunch of donkey backsides, they will turn you away if you go in early.

    jungHo and jaso37 Thank this.

Slick roads in northern Illinois at this hour. Our crews are out working to clear them.

I'm going to try to get several weather reports onto one post .....hope it's not confusing.

Now getting several reports of snow across central Indiana, including here at
#Indy airport. So far nothing accumulating. #INwx

Everything I hear from drivers right now in Wyoming is that it is a mess.

Latest road conditions showing most roads across Iowa either partially covered or mostly covered with snow. Some icy roads near Cedar Rapids and from Des Moines to Ottumwa. Needless to say, if you don't need to be on the roads tonight, stay off them. #iawx #iawxnet

George said, earlier tonight, ground is covered in Council Bluffs, IA.
There was a trucking fatality earlier today, as reported by Road Trip, on I 81 near exit 250B/ Wilkes Barr, a Conway truck. Wicked accident. The cause of the accident wasn't listed (or I missed it), but it appears slick roads may have been part of the cause. Saw it on Facebook.

So sorry about your computer, jaso....a major "hindsight is 20/20" situation! Hope you find your sunglasses soon, and try not to beat yourself up too badly.

Be safe, Everyone! Hope you don't have to make any more late night, early morning treks outside in freezing weather, HTQ!!:biggrin_255:

When I was through 88 in IL earlier the roads were bone dry and well-salted.

I'm currently at a service plaza off 76 in PA. Had to make my own spot. The pattern of crap still happening continues... My load was ready in Joslin last night when I dropped my empty but I was waiting til today to pick it uo because I needed a 10. Well I grab it and at the gate not only was it missing a seal, but the one on there was totally wrong. So that burned up some time to correct. Then I haul down the road and stop in Ohio for a 30 minute break and my reefer dies. Completely. TransAm caught on before I finished my break so I had to take it to TK for a new battery. I was just gonna mute the satellite and haul butt to where I wanted to shut down and force them to send a service truck to me. I mean, it's in the 20s and 30s. The load won't spoil. But oh well. It's fixed. If I start running I can squeak in to Elkton and squeeze in a 10 hour break before I run over to Burris and unload my first stop. Then I plan to drive down to Smithfield and try to final this all on Monday. Hopefully I can get around Baltimore and DC before traffic becomes an issue. I've never been anywhere near either place!!
