Clear and 11 degrees to start. Now I think its up to 19 with a windchill of 4 or 5. Yeah the natives here in Omaha say its too soon to be so cold. After my 1st delivery I was supposed to drop my empty trailer at the meat plant in Omaha. When I got there, the reefer decided not to work. I had a dry line ad of IV bags and saline from Baxter and yes I did treat the reefer as CY suggested. Anyway guard says to get it fixed before you bring it back. I say ok knowing that I have to cover this beer delivery I had to rescue. Dropped the empty at the TA in Council Bluffs. The other driver got clipped.by a Werner driver and had been stranded since Friday. They were going to tow him back to the Olathe yard. His girlfriend was with him and they couldn't tow my trailer with his tractor. Told him to drop it and I would be back for it. Thats when it decided to start working again. Roadcall said they didnt see any more codes. Now the planners were holding me up because they couldn't decide if they wanted me to forget the delivery of beer to Budweiser and take the trailer to get it checked out. I sat over an hour waiting on their decision. I told them I could cover the delivery, drop the trailer I had now at the meat plant and pickup my trailer back at the TA. With it working it seemed like a no brainer. Guess what, I am getting unloaded, then dropping this trailer and going back for my original. How do you choose fixing a trailer over a delivery that is now five hours late? Geniuses! Scares me when I think I know more than they do. Yeesh.

Are you trying to say I am moody????
Through my little grapevine network .....this is part of the problem, they want a one year contract from me, no fraternizing with the competition for 2 years ...... I am checking the companies now. So far, so good ....nothing out of the ordinary as far as complaints and plenty of drivers that are happy with their work on the main company. One of the new contracts I am not finding much on yet .....possibly have had their internet presence scrubbed. They are willing to pay tremendously well for driver placement. My ....ummm ....what would you call it ....intuition.....is tingling. I won't help place drivers with disreputable companies. The commission for that company is such that placing 24 drivers a year would be equal to the income of one year driving with TA, in a great year......sound too good to be true? ....hmmmmpassport220 Thanks this. -
Well not trying to sound mean but it does make one wonder since I was beginning to wonder if Flash was in my neck of the woods as it is exactly the problem with the rain I have as well right now.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

I consider my company to be a pretty good one but, sometimes they just don't have a clue!!! They're wanting me to do an 8-2 split, so that I can deliver this load at the contracted time. Finally got them to understand that that wouldn't work. Was harder, trying to make them understand, that even find ding a place to take a nap in NJ, is already past the witching hour. If you don't have a spot by 1700, your screwed in this area. Heck, its going to be a pain to.even scale out!!! Told them I can do it, but not eating a toll.
passport220 Thanks this. -
Still getting unloaded. I think they have everything off and ate counting it. I hope they have enough fingers and toes to be accurate. Will never come back here again, the list grows

George has a drop and hook (en route now) at Dakota City,, NE with a 3 drop load to Baton Rouge, LA, Birmingham, Alabama, and Plant City, FL....meat load. His DM thanked him for doing the rescue, then hooked him up. George is happy for both the miles and getting his wish to go south!! He has just about 3 hours left for drive time today.
Hang in there, jaso...can see why you don't want to go back there again! Are you close to your parents' home? Will you get to see them this time?
