I can understand that there will be disgruntled company drivers out there that don't care if they burn bridges and destroy any chance at driving again, but what is the ratio of lease to company recoveries? Between the last thread and other threads I have read on here lease is usually higher.

Well for goodness sakes, Pete, why not? I am the Queen you know!

The only way to save the world is through personal responsibility and integrity...one person at a time. If we all do the right thing to the best of our ability then the world would be a kinder place. It has to start somewhere, why not with me???
Take a good look at this thread ...isn't that what we have done here. Tried to make it a little better and a little easier for the next person ....and it works...when they have a sense of integrity and personal responsibility.
Besides the King said that, much as he would like to semi-retire and buy a new boat, he didn't like the idea of knowing that at any given time there could be a few dozen drivers.....in big trucks .....all looking to run me over!

TransAm always kept students isolated. The ones in orientation stayed in a different hotel than the ones that just got back with a trainer. You weren't allowed to wander around and talk to any drivers on the yard.....and they weren't allowed to talk to students. That should tell you something about the lease program especially ....if it is such a moneymaker and a good deal, why not allow the students to approach the drivers and talk with them?
There is a company that I have watched for awhile. Recently I found out that when they hired someone to come to orientation if they had a driver in the area that was willing, they offered the new student the choice of riding back to the yard with that driver on his backhaul. They aren't afraid of what a student will find out during orientation, they give them an opportunity to experience it and talk with a driver firsthand. What a difference in philosophy and company policy!Last edited: Nov 21, 2014
dennisroc, passport220 and jungHo Thank this. -
A straight forward company? And what company is that? More importantly do they hire students?dennisroc and passport220 Thank this.

Got load delivered today. Got small easy run. Puts me about 800 Monday morning. I could use some rest. I am not a big fan of them saying "you have hours left". I hate that. If 1900 over three days doesn't prove to them that I know how to do this nothing will. Just blowing off some steam. I hate when they try to run my truck from their office chair.
Be safe out theregntorres61, dennisroc, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this. -
HTQ----- as good as the company you describe why would they need a recruiter?
I would assume that other job you only get paid for placing drivers so if you uphold your own sense of integrity
you just dont make as much
you work real hard here but the pay is atrocious -
At the Flying J awaiting another swap in Spiceland IN. I really don't mind the swaps. Except the last one missing out on Florida and all. But with the four hours I was in the shop in Olathe for the TREQ Unit keyboard being faulty, and then an "all of a sudden" trailer DOT inspection (didn't know about it until I got there) my four hour cushion was obliterated. Que sera, sera (whatever will be, will be). Still I was running a full day ahead on this load to the Walmart DC in Washington Courthouse Ohio. Now I get moving 10 hours earlier and still only 150 miles away from the Kroger Meat in Delaware Ohio. So I will take the swap.
dennisroc and passport220 Thank this. -
They don't! They do their own hiring.

I do however try to keep a list of good companies on my own. I research a lot of companies .....just because that's the way my mind works. Information always has value .....whether it is for me or to help someone else.
I overheard Number One Daughter talking on the phone one day to a friend. She told him that she could always count on her Mom to do the right thing. That is worth more than any paycheck could ever pay me or the King. Money isn't everything......it's just a means to an end.gntorres61, passport220, jungHo and 2 others Thank this. -
I had to go look SRQGhost. They do take students and Florida is within their hiring area. I'll send you a link.dennisroc Thanks this.

Recruiting companies are going to try to place a driver with the carrier that pays the highest head hunting fee. They wouldn't guarantee me that "my drivers" would remain mine and only submitted to the companies I felt were appropriate. .....Go figure ....I'm not Queen of everything and have no control over recruiting companies or the weather ....contrary to popular belief.Panhandle flash, dennisroc, jaso37 and 1 other person Thank this.
