Yes but you have special powers with TransAm that the rest of us can not seem to pull off. I myself did leave behind two company trucks on TransAm's orders. Both where on breakdown, at KW shops. For one I took a bus back to Olathe, one I took back an abandoned lease 680 from a nearby tow yard back to Olathe. So I had two company trucks that needed to be brought in but neither was abandoned.
The two recoveries I did where both abandoned lease trucks. Both had breakdown problems and both had messages showing that safety had ordered them to shut down for log violations. Really need to know how to work a log before you sign a lease.
Edit: Wait, come to think of it, one of my recoveries was actually not technically an abandoned truck. TransAm sent out a tow truck to snatch the truck away from the driver but from the messages and the condition of the truck, he knew what was going to happen.

^ If you ever turn in a truck, CLEAR YOUR MESSAGES. Both inbox and sent. It is an odd thing about the TRAQ system. If someone else signs into the box, they can still read your old messages even if you are signed out. I never heard of any inbox system that would allow that. Your luck, you will get some busy body driver like me, who will go back and read up on old messages just for entertainment.

Hard to believe that TA would find ANYTHING, bad enough to send a tow truck after, violation wise.

^ The guy just seemed to refused to do anything in the end. Truck had been run down to only ounces of fuel. I don't think they pulled the truck just for log violations, it was only one piece of what was a very ugly puzzle.
One truck it seemed like a sad story, guy was going broke due to mechanical problems with the truck, then on top of it, had to sit unpaid due to safety shut down. Don't think he had a chance. Other truck, driver seemed like he was just a knucklehead. Would have been worrisome for him to work a burger flipping spatula at McDonald's, let alone a 40 ton big rig.Panhandle flash Thanks this. -
You bring up another valid point passport about how to run a log book. It is not as easy as it seems. You have to be careful with your hours and how to count them, especially when recapping.

We have guys in my company, that can't seem to do a log right, Even using the DDL program. It isn't rocket science and not really that hard to do, even recapping. The paper logs I remember from TA, actually made it pretty easy. Anyway, back to my company, if your running so "out there", that you find it hard to match the few little time stamps we turn in, you might what to rethink how your logging. There's various things you can do on paper, that are NOT to outrageous or unsafe, that will get you that extra 700 miles a week.

BTW, that extra 700 miles a week, is the difference between say a 2700 mile week vs a 3400 or more.

Swapped out trailers and had a chance to go to the receiver but rear trailer signal light is out. Swap driver tried replacing it but new light didn't work. Sent 12 to breakdown and road call is on his way out. Will wait until after midnight when my 10 is up then roll to the final. After I drop, swap my empty in Perrysburg Ohio Pilot and head to Fridley MN. Guess I can't help but keep going north. After that, Winnipeg? Nah, TA stops at the border and I don't have a passcard.
