Trans Am Still

Thanks for the compliment. I try to be kind and wake others like I want to be awakened ... and only when absolutely necessary. There are too many cranky guys with large implements of pain wanting to hurt me. I learned early on to make sure I can get out of my parking space before I back into it, but I am continually amazed at the arrogance and selfishness of drivers who think they can park sideways between two lines of backed-in trucks and go to sleep. Yeah...like nobody has to move until you have to. Idiots.

 

I'm a vampire, too. I prefer night driving for the same reasons, plus I don't have to fight for the last, worst parking spot at 7:00 pm. I think mine comes from working as a 3rd shift paramedic and flying night freight for many years before going to work for the FAA.

 

Things have really changed up there then. When I was up there you couldn't turn a corner in the farm lands without seeing a cow.

 

Happy birthday, HTQ! Hope you are able to ignore the age stigma and celebrate the specialness of life, the day you were born. I hope your daughters (and the kingm if he's home) make your day an awesome one and treat you like a queen!

I'm with you about pj's, girl friends and how things kind of digressed. Get your empty wrapping paper roll and bonk them on the head! They are so obviously guys, huh?

I am a window tapper. You know us Nyers nice and quiet, subtle. LOL. You guys know that is bull. For me it depends on situation if like Cranky wrote you park like an idiot I use the palm of my hand and yell POLICE that gets them moving. If you are a considerate person I just tap the window

 

What's happening is that you're turning into me! I am more likely to sit down and phrase things in a calm reasonable matter and work things out when DM is there because she's awesome. I try to be just as reasonable with DM2 but she gets tongue lashings from time to time. And it is no secret that if I don't like whoever is on the other end of the box for the day I will go out of my way to bother, harass, and be a problem for them. I get bored. It entertains me and is a way to blow off steam.

 

Proof positive that even good places have their off days. Am doing a 2nd pickup at a place I've been to several times before. Have had no problem. Today tho, am an hr past my appt and still not in a door. Good thing I don't deliver till Monday.

 

My personal update has me sitting at Birchwood in Norcross, GA. Got here an hour and a half early because I am a bada## time-traveller today. Seriously, after this mornings delay and the fact I picked this uo late and have been dealing with a stomach bug... at the time I left the truck stop this morning, it shouldn't have been possible to get here when I did. But I did some time warp and here I am. Saved mine and my DM's butt since she shot down a swap from the planners because she knew I had this. Then I woke up this morning, started my pretrip the second the clock turned green and moments later realized it was impossible for me to get out of my spot because of a douche bag PTL driver who though being the third truck stacked on the scale was ok. I remarked my truvk, got out and then started pounding on the side of the sleeper like my fist could go through the side and I could strangle him. I was on a hot Tyson load with no extra time for hold ups. Loves management announced over the PA that the driver needed to come to the fuel desk asap since he was possibly inside. Then the manager actually came out and cleared ALL the trucks who were parked by the scale and called the cops to come and ticket whoever wasn't gone by the time he got there. I waited almost an hour for the douchecanoe PTL driver to come sauntering out to his truck. The little #### didn't have a shower bag or anything with him. Just a #### cup of coffee. I was ready to run him over.

But my day has gotten much better once I did the timewarp. Will take my 10 here when I get unloaded then head to Dalton to get carpet to go to Kansas City Shippers. Will drop that Saturday night and then probably head to the yard to sleep if I don't have a preplan to pick up immediately. Dropped some hints that I would love a cake run to Lakeland right now because this whole week sucked. We'll see what my DM turns up.
