had an interesting trip plan logging problem today
15 hours of driving 16 hours until my appointment
with inspections and 2 30 minute breaks would have been late
if i drove max hours first day
combined fuel and pretrip
drove 7.5 hours each day
no need for milk and cookie break
delivered 30 minutes early
driving out your hours every day is not always the answer

Grandson Owen getting big , needed to see if I remembered how to share pics.
Plus he is a good lookin kid huh
I was talking to a guy at work that drove a truck for 5 years in his past and we were talking about how noisy it is to try to sleep with a refer running.
I was sitting in a big Deice truck we use to spray the airplane down when it has snow and ice on it. As soon as I turn on the PTO it gets pretty loud and he said that a refer truck is just as loud.
I remember last summer going to a few truck stops and they didn't seem that loud to me just standing next to them and I watch a lot of video's where a guy is driving a KW 680 and talking while parked and driving and it don't sound that loud through the video.
Is the refer noise really that bad ???jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
I don't think so, but everyone's tolerance is different...and the app isn't bad neither
-
What is the app are you talking about the APU ? I am thinking just a typo
-
Was wondering i anyone could explain fully how the per diem works? the amount you get from week to week varies on your mileage correct?
-
dennis these trucks are very well insulated today but i slept on running boats for 35 years
trucks pull in beside me i never know it
but i sleep at home with the tv on only wake up if it gets shut off
i find it more disruptive when the reefer is on stop start compared to continuous
and Ghost
i can't keep yelling about trip planning and not give examples
there are many variables go into every day
game of chess i am already thinking about my return trip
from CA and have just got to WI
what amount of hours I use today will affect me in 8 days to get home from CA
sometimes you just roll the dice
but if I leave CA and just head east no load will be delivered on time
and i will be at some TS with no hours
swaps fix this for Transam the better you manage hours the less swaps you cause
with my company we have only 5 trucks go to CA
swaps dont figure in to the planningwulfman75, dennisroc, SRQGhost and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah it was a typo...it's supposed to be apu..sorrydennisroc Thanks this.
-
me either. Didn't make an appearance till 75
