Donner can be a mess any time between October and April. And CalTrans isn't much help plus the CHP hates truckers trying to chain when 800 or so others are taking up all the space. I've had them in my face many times demanding that I "CLEAR THE ROAD, DRIVER, OR I WILL TICKET YOU FOR OBSTRUCTING THE ROADWAY!" even though there was no place to go and I was ½ a doorway away from the guy to my right.

The link I posted has a link to CalTrans and several others at the bottom of the page. For me it is just the easiest place to start checking......like a WalMart, one stop shopping! :biggrin_2559:

Hi TransAm'ers. Just checking in. It is CRAZY to drive a 4 wheeler. I had driven a passenger car exactly once since 2005 (for my driver's license test) and now it seems crazy to be so low to the ground like a go-cart. I still move through traffic like I need to clear a trailer behind me and when I stop, I keep looking for a button to put myself "off-duty".

The clubhouse is coming along. A lot more fun thinking of what and how to fix up the place than actually getting my hands dirty doing it. However, a lot of improvements and new technology in the stuff you can buy to make the jobs easier than long ago when, as a teenager, I worked on home repair with my dad. Water system had blow outs from frozen lines from last winter, got that all up to snuff. Walls had some holes, those are all patched up and finishing up prep work to paint the whole of the interior this week.

I have been keeping up on reading posts, good luck to all. Nice job JH in looking after your mom and being sure she continued to get the care that she needs!

I'll do the holiday thing with family, then leave for Asia on January 12.

Stay safe and happy holidays to all!!!

Shutdown in Spiceland Indiana at the J for my 10 hour break. Will continue on nights myself. Why not, can put three or four hours (over 200 miles more possibly per day) running this way. Enlightenment is a great thing.

dennisroc, wulfman75 and jaso37 Thank this.
